Slatkin Candles

i was always happy with Slatkin candles and didn't have any problem with them but the wicks drowned in the last two I burned. I'm so disappointed, especially since I'm happy with the smells. How is everyone else doing with them?

@Snooky60 I bought a three piece set for Christmas. I don't burn them a lot, but so far no drowning. I always trim the wicks.

@proudlyfromNJ - ha, there must be something wrong with me. I could never trim the wicks; they're always so short as it is!

i solved my drowning wick problem....i scoop out the candle wax and use it in my tart warmer! i love my tart warmer....no burning flames....no soot...

i love the scent of the Christmas ones i bought last year, but I could never seem to get all three wicks to burn at the same time; one would always go out. I use a toenail clipper I bought just to trim candle wicks; works perfectly and better than scissors or wicktrimmers they sell.

@nana59 I do the same thing and it works! I like it better than burning the candle.

I'm burning one right now called Autumn Pinecones or something like that and it smells so good and has been burning great! I love Slatkin/Homeworx Candles and have never had a problem with my wicks.....The scents are really nice without being overwhleming too.

@panda1234 @nana59 Another "why didn't I think of that moment" I don't like burning candles and love my Scentsy warmers so I am going to give this a try. I like using the same scent in multiple room and this is an easier way to acheive this and I bet in the long run will be cheaper than buying all the tartlets.

I LOVE Slatkin candles. I do have a problem (only with some) in the drowning wicks, BUT.....I have solved the problem by burning the candle for about 30 minutes and once the oil starts melting, I put the candle out, and immediately pour the melted wax in an empty coffee can. Then I light the candle again and never anymore drowning wicks after I pour the melted wax out the first time. You don't have to melt very much of the wax the first time, just a little. I think his candles are wonderful but it seems some are just overloaded with the oils (which makes it smell so strong and nice) that I figure that is what is making the wicks drown after the first lighting. Try that and see if it works for you....it worked for me on the candles with the heavy oil.

I've had mixed results with his candles. Scent is always good to me, but I have had issues with the wicks on some of them.

Inconsistent quality when it comes to that.
