HSN Card making question!

Help please. I love crafting. I'm a knitter and I like to dabble in many areas, sewing and jewelry making to name just two crafts I enjoy. BUT, I don't understand card making. I have purchased many of the HSN card making kits and a few of the devices like the Diamond Press thing and the Anna Griffin mini machine. I feel like I don't know the steps to making a card. In the presentations I see the card making is far along in the process and I don't see how the card making starts from the beginning. I hope this makes some sense. I usually learn quickly. I've learned so much from YouTube videos, but the card making alludes me. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

I used to do a lot of paper crafting. Many of the card making kits on HSN, especially Anna Griffin and Crafter's Companion, come with idea guides. If you're just learning to make cards, I'd definitely start with a kit because everything you'll need is in there. You don't have to think if this embellishment will fit or cutting cardstock. It's all right there in the right proporttions and size. I used to subscribe to paper crafting magazines but sadly those have all been discontinued to the best of my knowledge. I think I read somewhere that Anna Griffin has her own website with tutorials and maybe a Facebook page. I used to do Anna Griffins Christmas cards. It was a kit and like I mentioned, everything you need is there (including ideas) and how to. Just know that when it comes to mailing one of these handmade cards, they usually require more postage. On more than one occassion mine have been sent back for more postage. You'll also need a good adhesive and I'd check HSN for that. If you know what you're looking forward, the craft stores have plenty of different adhesives. I hope this helps. If you have more questions, just reach out. I'd be glad to help.

My pastimes are sewing, quilting and cross stitching.

I tried my hand at paper crafting, tried to like it but hated it. Such a waste of money on supplies and tools.
