Feeling Blues?

Do you like and use shades of blue in your home?

One of our bedrooms which we use as a reading room, has 2 blue reclining chairs and a blue and white stained glass lamp.

Our kitchen and half bath were also blue, but we have since changed the colors of those 2 rooms.

Even though I tend to use warm colors in my home, I am definitely drawn to shades of blue. I think the darker shades look dramatic while the lighter shades are calming. If I had my dream beach house, I would definitely decorate with blues (and greens & yellows).

Ever since I was first married 47 years ago, my main bath has always been blue.

I have had blue kitchens, living rooms,, dining rooms and bedrooms that were blue as well.

Right now, one spare bedroom and the main bath are blue.

I like the first photo a lot. My blue decor is in our backyard deck and courtyard. Colbolt blue flower pots, an end table and 2 adirondack chairs.

All of the rooms are very pretty but my two favorites are the bedroom and the bathroom.

The bedroom is so peaceful and I love everything about it. I would love to start my day by waking up in that room.

The bathroom is done in exactly the shade of blue that I prefer. I wouldn't change a thing in that room.

I like the livingroom in the picture right after the bedroom but it's a little too light for me.I think it would be very difficult to keep everything in that pristine condition if your family actually used that room.

My living and dining rooms are painted a Wedgewood blue. I always had white walls but years ago decided to put color in the rooms. I wouldn't go back to white and love the blue walls which are calming. When I have the rooms painted again, they will be a shade of blue!

I love all the pictures of blue especially the bedroom and the last picture with the very spacious room! However, each photo had appeal for me. Lovely!!!

Like the last photo, but I'd add a few red accents. Maybe, a patterned blue and red lamp or oriental vases.

Witty title, @wilma ! Blues are me, along with greens, creams and chalky pinks. I especially like your lighter blue images-- I find that range to be the most 'energizing', although I do like most blues. As usual, it's that sort of misty, chalky, off-pastel, 'washed-with-green' blue that you find in a robin's egg that makes me happiest.

When we painted our mostly south-facing living room B. Moore's historic shade "Woodlawn Blue", it immediately became my favorite room in the house.

I like blue, but NOT blue walls. When we built our home in 2007, I used the most beautiful "blue pearl" granite in our bathroom. Then, me having limited decorating skills, we painted the bedroom walls and bathroom walls blue. I have hated it ever since. Love the blue granite on the two bathroom counters and accents in the floor. Hate the blue walls. I have in my mind how I want it redone, but that has not happened yet.

@wilma All of the rooms are so pretty but I find the lighter tones too visually intense from their paleness in such large amounts.

I the bedroom, I wouldn't have had the headboard blue. It was too much.

Almost all shades of blue are lovely and yet I only like it in interiors in small doses: acessories, the occasional throw pillow or throw, sheets or quilt, etc., and, of course, blue and white porcelain. All of the 'sample' rooms are appealing.

Blue is my favorite color and I used it throughout my house to decorate.

In the family room we have a denim blue couch and blue patterned curtains.

In the kitchen which opens to the family room we have a blue tiled backsplash.

The power room is painted light blue.

The celings in my living room and dining room are painted light blue with the crown molding separating it from the beige walls. I also have a blue patterned rug in the living room.

In the master bedroom I have an upholstered navy blue headbord with matching dust ruffle. The comforter has a blue pattern on it.

In the previous home I lived in, I had a blue ktchen with black cabinets and hard wood floors. It was striking.

Your reading room looks very relaxing. Just looking at your pooch, it feels the same way.

Yes, I love shades of blue. I do have a few blue rooms in our home.

Love the first 3 pics you posted. I'd like the 4th one better if the zebra print chair was replaced with a different one. Same with the picture on the back wall. It's dramatic but I'm just not fond of the print. I'd rather see a scenic one. The 5th pic, not at all, it's too formal for my taste.

I like blue (all shades), but I just dont like the way the rooms are decorated and/or accessorized .....

Room #1--- looks tired and outdated---dont like the curtains

Room#2--- Too busy and too white....

Room#3--- Too white and too boring

Room#4--- HATE glass coffee & end tables and again too much white/beige

Room #5---Dont care for it at all

Room#6---The bathroom is OK

Room#7---Not a fan of ginger jars---they'd have to go, get rid of that mirror above the mantel and put something else...Then this room would be fine!

For me, a little blue goes a long way.I like to wear blue, but not so much in my home decor.

Indigo / denim is the accent color in my cream guest room: pillow shams and throws.

Kitchen is S-W Tinsmith: Gray with a drop of blue.

All the rooms are something I would choose...I love most blues. The only ones I really don't like are neon and bright shades of blue
