Yellow Rooms? 👍 or 👎🏻

Do you like and use the color yellow in your home?

I like yellow. It’s so happy, sunny, and cheerful.

From my childhood through teens my bedroom was painted bright yellow. I also had a huge multi colored floral bedspread with yellow flowers in it. Very 70s groovy!

Now I prefer more subtle shades of yellow. I don’t have much yellow in my house right now because my DH does not like the color. Maybe one day I can change his mind.

👍🏼Absolutely. I use a color called Ancient Scroll and it's a bit paler than this and I adore it. It's quite a neutral color without with out being some type of ivory or beige. Anyway yes I am a fan for sure.

I like a soft, muted yellow; not one that SCREAMS yellow. The first picture is nice; the yellow wall is pretty. The last picture...no.

Yes I love different hues of yellow but not too much. I like the way it is used in the rooms shown. I love some yellow in my kitchen makes me feel happy looks good in pic with white chairs around table.

I like the yellow rooms, they are bright and cheerful. I hate blue for home decorating, it's a good thing there are lots of colors and styles to suit everyone.

I too like a yellow painted room as long as its not "canary" yellow! That yellow is too much bright. I do like the first photographe.

In fact, the sitting room in my house in Athens is painted between yellow and cream (I dont know how to describe the colour). I remodelled the house two years ago.

I love the combination of yellow and green. These rooms look so elegant, fresh and inviting. The only thing I did not like were the chandeliers (sp?). Other than that, I would move into those rooms in a heartbeat.

Yellow is my favorite color! I think all of these rooms look beautiful. I have two soft yellow chairs in my loft and they are gorgeous!! I think when you go with the softer tones of yellow they really are welcoming and just make you smile. Bright yellows can be overpowering. Soft yellows are also great because you can add deep rich colors to them and just make a room pop!!

We like yellow, many years ago we painted the master bedroom a nice shade of yellow, doesn't scream at you at all. My DH in fact picked out this color. Pretty easy to decorate with, I have LOTS of lovely quilts, subdued and brights depending on the season. Our room faces the east so the sun rises in it every morning, makes it bright, cheerful, happy.

I like the creamy shades of yellow. Same with gold; the creamy shades are my preference.

Yes! I think I have had a yellow room in all but one of the four houses I have lived in as an adult The "yellow" room in my present home is the guest room. Most of the furnishings are creamy neutrals, including the window treatments, carpet, bedding and chair. The walls have just a touch of yellow in the same creamy tone: Sherwin-Williams Hinoki. The room faces east. Even on a rainy day it looks bright and cheerful, but subdued at night, just as I intended.

I'm not a fan of yellow on my walls. I don't think it works with my decor. The photos though are beautiful and yellow fits perfectly. A friend painted every room in her houses a light yellow. It always looked nice. My co-worker who's also a neighbor painted a half bath in your face yellow. Not a fan.

These rooms are very fresh and pretty. Look summery especially with white touches. I like them a lot.

Although it hasn't been a color I've decorated with, I like a little bit of pale yellow-- pretty and sunshine-y. Especially like the way the English do yellow in their country houses. They're fearless.

My pale green kitchen has a retro enamel yellow wall clock.

My entire downstairs is a soft yellow and I love it. It’s time for me to paint again upstairs and the color @Lucylu12 that you mentioned sounds like what I am looking for. It looks like that is a Home Depot Behr paint color...if I am correct, may I ask what type of coverage do you get with their paints? We painted a bathroom upstairs with Duron brand and it surely isn’t what it used to be. Thinner and color comes off when I wipe something off the wall. How does the Home Depot brand perform? Thanks!

I like yellow and agree it's a happy color. Same as others though, I don't like an in your face yellow. We always had a softer yellow kitchen in our homes until we moved to our condo, now it's a darker beige as it connects with the dining room. That would have been a bit too much.
