Honeywell House In Wabash, Indiana

Since Honeywell is so much in the news due to Covid D, I thought you might light to take the tour of the Honeywell House. I have dined here for brunch and it is open to the public to tour. They have a Honeywell Civic Center, too. It brings in some really big names for entertainment. Mrs. Honeywell died in a fire in her bedroom so much of it had to be rebuilt. They have weddings here and I'm not sure.... but I think now you can stay the night like a bed and breakfast. It's not far from where I live. Mrs. Honeywell has a lot of wonderful china collections from all over the world that I was privileged to see. It would be fascinating to visit, @jubilant ! What a tragic incident with Mrs. Honeywell. My aunt died that way, years and years ago, and it is so sad to contemplate. I can well imagine the collections are beautiful.

So sad about your aunt. It is tragic to lose a loved one in such a way.

Eugenia Honeywell offered so much to the little town of Wabash. She turned everything over to Indiana University upon her death as she wanted to be sure the Arts were kept alive. IU has kept up her traditions and it's a real asset to our state.

OMG - I've actually BEEN to Wabash - whilst in my 2nd year of college in 1982 and the lil trailer house I was staying in (my roommate's family lived in) was nothing as grand as this.

Tho her home was nice and her family had obvious pride in ownership, it was nothing as glorious.

The open space and abundance of farmland in Wabash was amazing to me.....a city girl from Philly.

What a beautiful home! I love the furnishings and the master bedroom and sunroom are my favorites! Much of the decor and furnishings are my taste and I could easily live here! Just so much appeal.

I was born in Wabash.. Many many years ago.

(I am a Grammy now. My Grandpa was the Sheriff in Wabash

when I was a baby.. My family moved from Ind in my youth, but

I do remember many stories.. The pictures are lovely.
