His and her master baths.

Would much prefer that to a huge master bath that accommodates two people. I see those on renovation shows on TV and think there's nothing I do in the bathroom that I want an audience.

A high school friend's parents had his and hers master baths. That's the only one I've ever seen. That was also a lot of years ago.

I'm spoiled from having my own bathroom for a long time. I never want to share a bathroom ever again.

I Am in complete agreement with you! We have always had our own individual bathrooms, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The over the top masters baths seem like they are more for entertaining than using.

DH and I have never shared a bathroom...except on vacation. His is attached to the master...small footprint. Mine is larger, lucky me!

We both have our own bathrooms. Mine is on the main floor and handicapped accessible. His is in our finished basement that he has two ways to get to it. It's great because he doesn't have to track mud and grass throughout the house.

As a realtor, I worked with one couple who renovated their master baths into his and hers in both the house they sold and the one they bought. His just had a toilet and sink. Hers also had shower and tub. I'd like to have the same!

I think it is an excellent idea and builders need to include in their plans or offer as an option. I would love my own bathroom if I was married again. This way you can clean your and he can clean his. When I was married, I did it all -- work, clean the house, grocery shopped and cooked. Doesn't seem unbalanced? That's why I am divorced. LOL

I wouldn't want to share my own bathroom, then again, I'm single so there's that. Seriously, I really don't have a problem sharing a bathroom as long as other people clean up after themselves after using the bathroom.

My DH and i share the master bath off of our bedroom. Down the hall is an unused extra large bath reserved for guests. ( used to he the kid's bath.) we have always been in different schedules and don't mind sharing.

Many new homes around us are being built with two master bedrooms each with a master bath. They are selling well.

My husband uses the hall bathroom, and I use the master, although really they are right next to each other. Ideal.

My ideal master bath would be separate sink areas (instead of one, connected double sink area). I'd also love h/her walk-in closets.

The last time we were in Chicago we stayed in a king suite that had two bathrooms. I loved that and think that would be great to have if I ever build my own home.

When hubs and I started out 42 years ago, we had a place with one bathroom but we were 21 and it didn’t matter. After two kids, we moved on and got a house with bath and a half and the only thing we shared was the shower. The half bath was mine. After 4 kids, we built a home with 2 and a half baths and I have had my own complete spot since then. Still have two of my guys living with us (stuff is tough out there) but they share the bathroom with dad. They are forbidden in mine lol...guys are nasty, they surface clean and yep, I do the deep corner/crevice cleaning. I too will never share a bathroom if I don’t have to.

Always shared the master bath with my late husband--never even thought of doing anything else.

Fast forward to my new life after widowhood with DH. He absolutely must have his own bathroom, and I wouldn't have it any other way now. I decorated the master bath for myself and he renovated the bathroom down the hall for himself. We each also have our own closets, mine with a mirrored dressing area. This is domestic bliss😏; even married people are entitled to privacy.

If we had separate bathrooms his would never get cleaned so it would be an extra room for me to clean.

I can't imagine not sharing our master bath with my dh! Why would I want an entire huge bathroom for myself? Selfish much? My dh and I are "joined at the hip". We totally enjoy each others company all of the time, even when we are in the bathroom. Our master bath is huge with two sinks and a huge shower for us to both use.

I've always liked the idea of a three-chamber master bathroom. An initial pair of chambers side by side each with a vanity and toilet, then a large chamber connected to those with a shower and tub. Each person gets their own sink and toilet and they share the shower and tub. In the wall between chambers have a sliding partition of some sort that can be opened should both parties want to talk or communicate, but then closed if one or the other wanted some privacy.

Like others, my husband uses the hall bath, and I use the master bath. He does use the walk-in shower in the master bath just so there's one less bath/shower to clean.
