I am very happy with one I bought from Amazon, the Zen Breeze essential oil diffuser 2019 model. Sorry I don't know how to link it but if you search it, is the only one that comes up. It has 14 beautiful changing lights but if you want no light at all while you are sleeping, you have that option. It can be set to diffuse for 1 hour, 3 hours, or 6 hours and then it will automatically shut off. It is easy to clean and quiet. Some people complain about the adapter plug located on the bottom, but it isn't that big of a deal for me.

I have several of the Better Homes and Gardens ones sold at Walmart. I also have one purchased from Scentsy. All work great. All the oils I have tried from both companies smell great.

I would suggest you get one of the inexpensive ones at Walmart to try out to see if it's something you like.

I like to use lavender oil at night when I sleep. I have used eculyptus when I've had a stuffed up nose and it has done wonders.

FYI, if you have pets I wouldn't advise getting a diffuser. They can cause health problems. Google to find out more info.

Just make sure the essential oil is not toxic to pets if you have one. the particals in the air will collect on their coats and be licked by them as they groom themselvs.

I have a nebulizer type of diffuser made by Aroma Ace. The thing costs a bit more than a regular ultrasonic kind. But it uses far less oil and there's no clean up after you're done.

ETA- The ultrasonic type diffuser is a good starter kind. It's where I got started. With those kind you add a little water to the diffuser and it makes a mist. Then you need to clean it out after you're done. There's a lot of wasted oil with that kind of device. The nebulizer, otoh, doesn't require any water, the mist is pure oil and can be very intense when desired. No need to clean anything when you're done and if you want to swap out scents then all you do is change bottles...simple as that.

I bought my daughter in-law one for Christmas ~ Pure Enrichment PureSpa. She loves it. It also works as a cool mist humidifier which she said is a plus for her (she suffers from eczema).
