There are aspects of this room that are nice. The pink plastic looking chairs look cheap. I like the color, but if the chairs were upholstered this would really look so much better. The stripes on the bench - not wild about -- perhaps a floral print integrating the pink, black and white colors would look nicer.

I really like the glamour of the black and white room, but the addition of the red chairs makes it look like they couldn't afford another black and white bench.

Nice space - I'd like it much better if it didn't have "zebra" style bench & a different ceiling light fixture. IMO, the potential is there to look much nicer.

Get ANY four wooden chairs from the Goodwill, paint them black and they'd be an improvement.

Don’t know if I want to watch myself eating in that mirror. I also don’t like those plastic chairs. (They are plastic, right?)

Or the teacher’s lounge, or the assembly hall, etc. As a retired teacher I have seen many of these chairs. I do not want to see them in my home. Ever. Period.

I think the chairs are okay. The worst part of the room is the mirror. Yes, I know it's meant to make the small room look bigger, and designers love mirrors, but who wants to see themselves every time they sit down to eat.

Looks like a beginner designer; they know some of the right techniques but they’re not applied well here.

That long bench type seating would be awkward with people trying to adjust their distance from the table at the same time since it is not anchored.

Also It’s straddles the rug which might not be a good thing for wear and tear. I can’t think of a single woman who wants cafeteria looking chairs in her dining room.

The long mirror does the job of making the room look bigger But it also makes it look narrower.

It’s nice for people to take risks, this designer will be doing much better in a few more years.

Put the bench in the foyer and just let 5 people sit at the table.

I'd love if those chairs were upholstered in a comfy, but wipeable material.

Agree with others about the pink chairs -- but the stripes are classic. I'm a fan of different dining chair options. I did that at my other home for fun. Family picked out their individual chairs and we all sat at my grandmother's oak table -- which came to me without chairs. A happy memory. My kids and foster son made it a big deal to pick style and comfort of their special chairs.

Remove those horrid pink chairs and replace them just about anything and it would be an improvement.

It looks like you'd need to seat the taller people in the pink chairs and the shorter people on the black/white bench to keep both sides at eye level! LOL! Thank you @lolakimono - I always love your photos!
