I have used Nellies for many years and have been reasonably happy with it. However, while visiting my folks I had to wash a few things and used their brand name detergent. I was shocked at how much cleaner my things looked - they were some poly or nylon nightgowns and underwear. They had looked very dingy before. Maybe it was just because of the fabric type. In general I have no complaints about Nellies.

I have been using Nellie's for about a year and a half in my 31 year old Maytag. I wash in cold water only. I dry most things on delicate (yes, even my jeans!). I use the Lamby balls in the dryer. It seems to me that my clothing is cleaner and brighter. I used Woolite & Tide in the past and I think that those two left residual detergent in my clothing.

I have noticed that my washing machine get less buildup of soap and needs to be cleaned less. I have also noticed that the dryer vent no longer has as heavy a buildup of lint. We had to to a vent clean out every two-three months in the past. Now we do it at about 6 month intervals.

I love that it has no odors, no perfumes and no residue.

Think I'd better try this stuff out. I've only seen Nellie's on HSN. Is there another place to buy it? I wash in cold water and even use Clorox on the towels and T-shirts and they come out very dingy looking, especially the white towels. You'd think I didn't wash them.

nellies will brighten your clothes, regardless of the washing machine, but i think the non HE washing machines clean clothes way better. i mostly wash clothes in cold water. i have extremely hard water.

sadly, i now have an HE washing machine and i think it's the pits!
it gets my clothes clean, but to me, not as clean as my prior non HE washing machine, so sometimes, i will wash them a second time. i also started using the nellies brightner, since i bought this new washing machine and that does make a difference.
