I like blue but wouldn't be able to stay in that room for long...I like all the patterns separately but together it makes me really uncomfortable, I had to look away from the picture several times.

Here's another "conversation area" and this one doesn't take into account room for knees. Seating is too close to the coffee table.

Studied this room for some time trying to decide why it's so dreadful. Too much pattern...white...blue...style of furniture, rug, wallpaper? Couldn't put my finger on it other than all of it is bad separately and mixed together.

I like blue colors, but this is just too much for me. The area rug is over the top bad along with all of the matchy-matchy chairs and sofa.

It's bright and airy but looks inexpensive and not too much thought put into it. Not for me.

Our kitchen had very similar wallpaper when we moved in. Didn’t like it then or now. Removed it during a kitchen remodel years ago. There is nothing I really like here.

@SandySparkles I don't see this as ultra modern at all. The furniture shape may have some mid-century feel, but the wallpaper and upholstery are far from modern.

As to the room itself, I like the brightness of it and the shade of blue that was used, but that's about it!

The wall treatment is not bad but the flooring is another one of those patterns that is too busy- not relaxing at all - and competes wit the walls. Also, it has a dizzying affect. It's a definite - no.

I like rooms that are peaceful and restful looking.
