I haven't used them for curtain rods but got the 5lb ones and use for coats, scarves etc. They hold a lot and were a lot easier to put up than I would have thought.

I guess you could always try. I don't know if they have ones for more than holding 5lbs.

I've used them to hang light weight pictures on the wall. They were easy to use and don't damage paint. However, after about a month one came crashing down. I will not use them again.

While I use them in varying weight-bearing capacities, you need to be very careful when removing them. Pull straight down s-l-o-w-l-y, otherwise you can rip the top layer of drywall or paint on plaster walls.

I remember using the “ Velcro-like “ hooks for a picture and when I pulled it from the wall, a large piece of the drywall came off.

You may want to practice in an inconspicuous place first.

Good Luck

Yes. In my LR. 4 windows.

You must use the heavy weight pewter-look hooks, which I purchased on sale at Target and you MUST use light weight , narrow diameter rods and light weight panels. It will probably not work if you live in an area with above average humidity. Be sure the finials on the ends of the rods are SMALL. or the hooks will pull right off the walls while hanging the rods (don't ask how I know this).

Mine worked until my A/C went out during the hottest week in July! I had saved the hardware that came with my rods, just in case. Tried to re-hang using Liquid Nails (!) even that did not work. My panels may have also been too heavy. DS came over and replaced two windows with the hardware. The hooks have held on the other two windows, and it has been about 9 months (fingers crossed). Also, your walls must be nearly perfect and smooth.

I do not remember on which of the other hooks I replaced the 3M tape with liquid nails. Some if not all four of the remaining hooks.

Good luck. I think whoever wrote about this (on another blog) wrote about her success after the curtains were hanging a very short time and she did not supply all the info I have given her.

I did in a pinch when I didn't want to deal with drilling more holes. It worked for about a week, if that. Between opening and closing the curtains, along with the weight, they came loose. Kwik-Hang is the best go-to if you have molding around your window frame. I'm hoping QVC brings them here in a set. They really are just as easy to install as the videos show. https://kwikhang.com
