Could be cute, but the room is bottom heavy with color and strong wooden furniture.

First, I think the chandelier looks lost. I'd use something larger using colorful solid shades...red or blue.

Replace the pictures with something using colors in the furniture covers.

Curtains or valences in solid red or blue or one of the patterns used on the furniture.

Too much color and pattern? I'd like to see the finished product, first. Then remove if overkill.

The combo of patterns and colors works, in that slightly eccentric, madcap English style. I find it sophisticated, cheerful, fun, and I think her dubbing it "English gypsy" is perfect!

NO! Too many distracting prints for me. I could not live there.

yes it works, but i would prefer to see something white and flowy on the windows, and i would substitute a round mirror for over the seating.

I want that rug on the floor! And I like the patterns in the two chairs with their backs to the photo (the seat of the chair would look great picking up a solid color of the print). Not sure how the wall prints were chosen....must have personal meaning. My style would be to play off the rug, reconsider the lighting, excessive patterns, window treatments, and wall art. But, hey, this works for the owner and I guess it could be described as cozy gypsy chic!

My initial reaction was that I love the French looking patterns in the fabric.

Then, upon looking further, I’d have to agree with everything @Foxxee mentioned.

Also, I agree with @Oznell @and @Seka

I’d have fun there fora visit!

Keep the wool rug and remove everything. Start over with individual chairs around an oval table (perhaps a drop-leaf if space is limited) and a light fixture sized for the room. Select artwork, linens and dishes with colors drawn from the rug. Half curtains in a geometric print or stripe would add texture and dimension to the room, yet let the light in and provide privacy.

This room needs a little softening for me.

More neutrals interspersed would make me enjoy it better.

My add on would be window coverings in a sheer ivory.

Generally I like uncovered windows best, but here, with all the mis-matched bold colors, I think they need something.

I don't love the room, but it's not terrible.

Love the room itself but dislike all the fabric on the chairs and the rug. I would change that and be happy with the room.

This reminds me of my mother's dining room. Gee ... it must be close to 20 years ago!

Her furniture was maple Early American with the kind of chairs with the "tie-on" back and seat cushions.

One year when I was spending my vacation with them, my mother and I were talking about getting new cushions ... and I had the "brilliant" idea just to recover the existing cushions. We went through her fabric stash and found a big box of fabrc samples that were the exact size to cover the cushions.(She was with fabrics like I am with yarn!) No two pieces were alike.

So ... I spent the day sewing cushion covers ... each a different color and print. Looked wonderful when done.
