This does not make me happy!

I was just looking at the VPH ottomans, as I have purchased several including the recent TSV. They have reduced shipping to $5.00 so that the total out the door price is now less than it was for the TSV.

This is really not fair to those who just paid more when it is supposed to be the lowest price ever offered. They just play games with the shipping charges and can get away with it because the item price is technically not lower but higher. We all know the true cost is both price and shipping, and this is really not honest of QVC to pull this on customers who just purchased. I'll be registering a complaint with customer service.

The shipping is reduced on other ottomans as well for those interested.

No, it's not fair. I remember a time when QVC would issue me a credit if an item I ordered went down in price. But that's been many years ago.

I understand your frustration. Not only the TSV, but lots of Valerie's newly presented items are reduced to $5 shipping, and other brands, too.

If you call CS, they might adjust the recent purchases to the new lower price.

I would call. Some stores have a policy where they will give you money back if you find an item cheaper elsewhere, even after the fact, so QVC might, but you'll have to call and ask.

It's a bummer, but costs going down after you buy something happens all the time.

Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I'm just too trusting sometimes & don't usually look back at items I just ordered at a special price. I bought 2 sets of the TSV, so my s/h was almost $19. I'm contacting CS about it, so we'll see what happens.

I know it isn't fun when you see the same thing you've recently purchased at a lower price, but that is not at all unusual with any brick or mortar or online store. Prices change all the time and there are specials on S&H all the time. I buy fiber at an online store and they have specials on S&H - sometimes flat rate, sometimes free, or sometimes an item free with purchse etc. I don't expect a refund or to get the free with purchase item just because they are having a special a week or two after I bought something.

I know QVC says the TSV is the lowest price it will be but personally I've always considered that applied to the product only - not to S&H or tax which is not entirely under their control.

According to another post I just read, QVC has lowered the shipping price to $3 or $5 on some items from 3/24 - 3/31. Also, as far as an item being the lowest price offered, I've only heard that about OTO's not the TSV.

You are right! They do only say it is the price (not s&h). So technically, I have no real legitimate complaint as they didn't offer the item at a lower price, it's just that the combined total is now less than the same combined total on TSV.

I have seen items on clearance for significantly less than they were on the TSV price as well. What they have to do is stop making statements that this is the lowest price this item will ever be, because it isn't always true. There are lunchtime specials, last clicks and other reductions that sometimes make the item less as well.

I'm not so mad I didn't take advantage of the reduced shipping and order another couple sets!

Correct. They have never claimed that the TSV price is the lowest price it will every be. They do say that about OTOs.

I have come across several previous TSVs that are at a lower price than they were when a TSV (clearance, lunchtime special).

Thank you, Mom in Ohio! I wouldn't have known about the change in the shipping charges if I hadn't read your post. As a result, I figured out the difference and called customer service. They told me that the special rates went into effect today and will be good for a week. They refunded the difference when I asked. You helped to save me several dollars... Thank you!

Just an FYI I got this statement off the Pricing, Retail Value, Offers & Other Information page.

At the top of the page it says: (Unless otherwise stated, pricing shown does not include shipping and handling or applicable sales tax.)

Then for TSV:

Today's Special Value®

Every day since 1987, we've offered one specially marked item at an exceptionally low price. That's our Today's Special Value and it's good for that day from Midnight ET until 11:59pm PT. During certain QVC Plus™ simulcasts, Today's Special Value prices may end at 11:59pm ET.

It is interesting that it does not say it will be the lowest price ever. This may be a case of the hosts saying something that isn't exactly what the actual policy is because I have definitely heard hosts saying it is the lowest price it will ever be. However, thinking about it that doesn't make sense because we know things are sometimes put on a clearance price or as is price that could easily be lower than when it was a TSV.

I don't think they have ever made that statement about TSVs.

The hosts often made this statement about TSV's, and lots of people have heard it over the years. I would venture a guess that they don't say it anymore, but it was a well used phrase at one time. I can't say I heard it in connection with the offer I was commenting on, but it was once standard practice.

I'm so glad I figured it out, and you're so welcome. I love these forums for sharing such good news!

I'm going through my list of wishes to see what might be a significant savings on shipping to see if there are other things I might want to order. Too bad Q isn't advertising this. I even changed a couple of waitlist orders that saved me a few dollars in shipping.
