While I value 'light and bright' as much as anyone, I also like a moody and atmospheric space. While I would probably never go this dark on the walls, I think it works and were the blinds more fully open, I think the room would be sufficiently bright or daytime, but yet the room is sufficiently snug, particularly for night time enjoyment.
