The chairs really aren't bad; the tables, particularly the one in the foreground, are awful.

I don't know if you would call this modern, contemporary or mid century, but I don't like it. Too cold looking for me.

Very mid-century modern...which I love to look at, but wouldn't want to live with! My favorite styles of homes are mid-mod and Craftsman--would love to live in a Craftsman.

@stevieb You are so right with the title mentioning the Jetsons! It also reminds me of a medical office waiting room trying to create some joy with the pastels against the sterile white background.

@nova As this look goes,, I suppose this is relatively palatable, but I'll tell you the truth, I didn't like 'mid-century' then and I still don't like it now... A reboot that can't go away fast enough...

Really like this colorful retro look. The chairs look comfortable too. Not entirely sure about the tables but in all a cheerful setup.

Hey, that floating credenza-- neat! To use the vernacular. Fun midcentury room, with some of the iconic designer furniture pieces of the period.

I love color, but prefer fewer colors scattered around in the furniture, but with some wall color, not dead-white as in this application.

My favorite use of midcentury, personally, is to have a little of it threaded through a more eclectic look. This room isn't exactly a purist's version of midcentury, but is still more homogeneous than I usually prefer..
