I love the way they look but for the life of me I have no idea what I would do with them.

I would probably put them outside but would a hail storm break them? We seem to get several of them a year. Are they heavy enough to withstand the wind blowing them over?

I love some of the colors but I am stumped as to how I would use them inside my home.

MagnoliaMS, I probably would have named this thread, Severe Sphere Syndrome. I have it too. There are several threads going about the spheres. It seems that people either love them or greatly dislike them. I'm in the former category with you.

The neat thing about the spheres (and other battery-lit items) is that you can use them on tables and other places where there's not an electrical outlet or you don't want to run a cord. I have mine tucked in my spring decor everywhere. At night, I love walking through my house and seeing the spheres glowing. Some of them glow in their color (the purple, for example); others just glow. I have one in my bedroom and I love seeing the glow as I'm going to sleep. I have mine all on the timer function.

The link in post #4 shows the ways some of us are displaying them. I got my first set in January so mine are all indoors yet. Yesterday, I placed two of mine in hangers to see how they work and it's ingenious. I will not put them outside until our weather is much better and even then I'm guessing I'll bring them in at night.

They are glass (and I've been told they shatter like old-fashioned glass Christmas balls) so I would not let them out when there's a hail storm threatening. I'll also bring mine in during thunderstorms because of the winds.

I got several "as is" sets from QVC. (BTW there's absolutely nothing wrong with any of them. They all work and have no blemishes that I can see.) I got some other sets from Ebay. And now I'm adding to my collection from the Q Outlet store. As I posted on another thread, I almost hyperventilated when I walked into the outlet and saw them on sale for $13.14.

I don't have the newer colors (pink, lavender, blue) but I have all the older colors except for amber. Storage can be an issue. They take up a lot of room. I have a huge attic and I was up there yesterday trying to figure out how to store them so they don't get broken and how to find the colors I want when I'm changing my decor.

My issue is with the outside globes, I hung them around the pool and tucked them in gardens and they faded so badly even the green and blue look like silver. You understand well how one can fall in love with the spheres and how to use them. The colors I have have worked well on my front entry area to my home. It is covered, and I have the sets displayed on different levels of a wrought iron plant stand. They usually match the wreath I have displayed on my door seasonally. Over Mardi Gras, I had the purple ones displayed around a Mardi Gras tree I had decorated inside of my home. You could see the tree and globes through my front bay windows from the street area, and they really looked pretty. I bought one set that was "as is" ,and they were fine, also. I have them stacked in original boxes in my craft building. I hope you will get the pink. They are lovely! I ordered the pink hydrangea wreath from Valerie, and I will diplay the pink spheres by it. Love using them in tablescapes in my dining area. Sphere on!!

I'm trying to decide if I can take mine out at night and bring them in during the day. Sounds like a pain but I agree that they are too expensive to ruin in one season.

I, too, have some spheres (silver) that are not weatherproof. I do like them. The batteries last a long time and the silver color works well in my house.

I love love my spheres. I have the blue, pink, purple and amber. Decorating with them is never a problem for me. They are so pretty when they all come on around six o clock. Love that they have a long battery life too. I have some of mine split up. The smallest purple is a nite light in the bedroom where we sleep. I want the cobalt blue too. I would not consider using mine outside.

I love anything that lights up like this. I have something similar outside. This is an obsession I need not get into. I've got too many already! LOL

I agree they can become an addiction. I think they are the best.

They're very pretty and, it seems, destined to be offered in more and more colors... I have several sets too and would like to add several more, but would love to see the Q expand their home decor offerings instead of continuing to offer the sames things over and over, only in different colors.

QVC is becoming very stale. Instead of constantly expanding horizons, once a concept works for them they proceed to push it out there at every opportunity until they ultimately run it in the ground... Such a shame, really.

I use the timer feature and it seems like batteries last at least a month, maybe longer. For the pleasure the spheres and other battery-lit items bring to me and the fact that I can use them at places where I don't have an outlet, I think that's very reasonable.
