Signs and word decor

I was just browsing through the home goods stores last weekend and I was struck again by how many signs the stores had for sale.

Do you use signs for decor? I know it is a feature of farmhouse decor, which is very popular now, but it's not for me.

I do not have any signs, other than a Merry Christmas or two. I love art on my walls.

I like them, I have a few even though I am sure they are a temporary trend. i have one in my kitchen that says "No Coffee No Talkie" and one in the bedroom that says "Dream a liitle dream"

@Oostende Aside from a couple I've seen in the homes of a friend I'm not a fan. They started selling these at least fifteen years ago. Kohl's, Marshall's, everyone carried them, not to mention in lots of catalogues.

Look too mass produced for me. I do have a silver colored "believe" three d standing piece that I put out for Christmas.

So so TIRED of this trend. They're sold everywhere and I'm frankly sick of the over saturated stock in all the stores. Enough.

@aroc3435 There's a lot of metal wall decor out there, too. That doesn't appeal to me either.

I wonder if this trend will be one people look back on and wonder what the heck we were thinking!

I received one for Christmas. I'm not sure what it says. It's still in the gift bag. I was going on vacation the day after I received it and put it in the closet.

@Oostende I was shopping at my local Meijer's before Christmas and came across a hanging smallish wooden sign that spoke to me. I know I'm going to butcher the heck out of the saying and I am kicking myself that I didn't buy the little sign.

It had something to do with it not looking like I had much but being grateful for what I had.

I really wish I would have bought that thing now.

Yes I have some plaques that have meaning to me — both on the shelves/end tables and wall.

I don't mean to judge, and think it was different, and kinda cute when it first came along, (however long ago that was) but like all trends, it gets overdone ad-nauseam, --now there's SO many, and from the looks of the shelves, it's time has passed.

I remember the HGTV designer/decorators using them a lot too.

The stores lately have so many of these. Even Walmart. I dont have any or want any. But they are nice.
