Spray painted bottles

I just want to spray paint everything! How cute are these? You could find fun bottles at thrift stores, rummage sales, etc. Also really cute for mason jars. These are distressed a little also.

love those mallemo. I suppose it takes a special paint to do these. I use to have one of those vases with the ""hobnails"" on them. I like the mixture of different bottles.

I'm not sure. Most project sites say just spray paint without a primer before but I guess you would have to experiment. I just think they are so cute and I might be able to do it. Maybe! I was thinking the same thing about the hobnail vase. I think I had one and tossed it. Here I go to the thrift store...lol!

I always enjoy the decorating ideas you share, Mallemo. However, to be honest this isn't one of my favorites. To me these just look like.........spray painted bottles! I prefer the look of naturally tinted, transparent glass with all the lustre and interesting light effects not blocked out by a coat of paint. If you love colored glass there's so much of it out there; you can pick up interesting colored pieces at thrift stores, flea markets, home stores -- much of it very inexpensive.

That's true and I love those things as well. This idea just crossed my mind when I saw this yellow bottle from a blog. I have the bunny picks and thought the yellow bottle was cute. I also thought they would be cute painted red/white/blue for July 4th. Just a festive holiday fun thing that does not cost much. Nothing for serious home décor.

Love the whimsy and the ability to get some color in the vignette. The twine is a cute touch, too. I don't do much serious decorating, lol!!

I know. We're always seeing different ideas in magazines, online, here and there, and trying them on for size, aren't we? I appreciate the spark of color, and I guess it's just a matter of personal taste and preference. I personally enjoy the look of see-through glass with all its color, depth, and sparkle more than I like the look of glass painted over! I love glass anyway -- in home décor, windows, tableware, jewelry. Don't want to cover it up!

LOL....Mallemo, thanks for the laugh today. I read your post and I couldn't stop laughing. You sound like me. If it stood still long enough it would be painted ! Before I got married, I lived in an apartment and I used to go outside in the back and lay down papers and start on decorating projects. I had paint marks all over the back walkway in the outline of where the newspapers were laying. If anything stood still long enough, it got painted . Have fun with your bottles and your spray paint. Let us know how they turned out.
