Looking back upon the 90’s, it doesn’t feel all too long ago, right? It’s the future now but these updated items are still for today - for example BJURÅN chair, formerly known as ÖGLA. It was first launched back in 1961. It’s a real statement piece, don’t you agree? Place it by itself as a single pop of color or as a set around your dining table.

This 90-00’s edition of GRATULERA vintage collection features furniture, textiles, tableware (and even a small deco horse) in a Scandinavian sleek expression.

It is funny how retro look backs in terms of design and fashion focus on the extremes of that decade. I was alive and well in the 70s, and I don't remember ANYONE having a living room even remotely like that photo. Maybe in high fashion areas, like NYC? But middle America? Not so much.

When I was a child we had a chair similar to the grey one in the first photo.

I really don't like and wouldn’t purchase anything in any of these photos.

I still have my parents 1960 chair identical to the first photo chair in the far left. Real wood, made in the USA. Perfect condition. Fits in perfectly with my cottage decor.

Pic 1 - too stark

Pic 2 - colors blend well (I would go with softer colors)

Pic 3 - LOVE the white walls with the very calming blue niches

These remind me of basement re-dos and I’m not saying that is an all bad thing.

The woods would not be something I could use in a living area. The bumped-in niches are clever but romper roomish to me. The rooms feel cold to me.

Elements that are appealing to me: Quilted sofa (red); prints used in the red room; the primary color lights; black wire frame furniture... I love the playful, converted-warehouse feel of the elements in the red room. This reminds me of apartment decorating back in the 70’s.

Some elements in the white room appeal to me too. The horse (yes); the bentwood red chair; and again, the prints which echo Meramekko prints popular in the day.
