just ordered the humidifier that qvc had on today. any one out there have one and how do you like it?

Have had several QVC humidifiers ( Air Innovations ) in my home and mountain place over the years.

Love them and use them year round: the moist air keeps nasal passages from drying out, cracking and letting cold germs take hold. Haven’t had a sinus infection for this reason. No more “crumbly” eyes when I wake up.

I use (well water) tap water that has gone through the water softener. Rinse out once a week.

Used during the summer when AC is one because the AC dries out the air.

Good customer service ( check with QVC ) but it is not the expected “Air Innovations.com “ name.

Yes, I own two of the Air Innov humidifiers. They work nicely. I buy the hard water filters for mine and that way I don't get that white dust, from the minerals in our hard water, on everything.

I used distilled water. No buildup/lime deposits, no dust.

I want get a new Humidifier, but my friend said she had a humidifier and it got mold in it, even with cleaning!

That is the last thing I would need is mold growing. Is there one that the best brand for non mold and that is easy to clean???

A few years ago we had one that was super hard to clean, got rid of it.

Use distilled water and clean it at least once a week with vinegar.

Get one that is easy to clean.

Most are now antimicrobial, but you still have to clean them.

I have another model that is going on year three. Runs quietly and makes my sleep better. I use tap water; here, it is not exceptionally hard and I just occasionally rinse the unit, as it stays very clean. I think one thing to remember is to use it often, then the water doesn't get stagnant. My original model:

i can remember we had a humidifier when i was a kid and you had a wet spot on the floor from it. do the new humidifiers do that to or are they better now?

Just thinking about that, @Pooky1. Not in my experience - no sign of moisture except for better air humidification. I run mine confidently on the nightstand with no protection underneath.

Of course, when you fill it you may have to dry any drips that come along with pouring water.

The second one I am awaiting will go directly on the bottom ledge of a little end table. I have read about a "white mist" that gets crusty but that must depend on water quality. My tap water is not terribly hard nor soft, and it works fine. I get no residue except a little crustiness once in awhile in the workings of the unit. I just scrub it lightly with an old toothbrush, once or twice a year.

Even if you get the type that fills from the top, I'd take the unit apart periodically to clean. I kind of wish mine had remotes but then I might get lazy(!).👓

I've had my humidifier for over a decade and have never had this issue. Mine is one of the evaporative ones and it works with a filter and and a fan.

It works great for me during the winter. I use a bacteriostat in the water that reduces the gunk that gets stuck and I wash it thoroughly every week.

You're defeating the purpose of the air conditioner which is to take the humidity out.

I have a warm mist one and I still put towels under mine and under the mist just in case.

Mine has a humidity setting as well, so I don't overdo it.
