Busted!!

I got busted last night. The Q held all of Homeworx Candles to ship all at once. Was in the kitchen and spotted the UPS truck headed our way, so I sprinted to the front door to head him off. Now, our dog is fairly hard of hearing, but oh no, she heard the truck stop out front and the barking started. Up from the basement comes my husband, who by the way, is usually deaf as a post also. He got there just in time to see 2 UPS men unload 11 boxes of candles! That made quite a stack I might add." What in the world is all of that?" he asks. I say candles. He could not believe it. I say, it is for the whole year and maybe into next. He still was shocked. I say," you hunt, you shoot guns, you buy guns and ammo." Not another word was said. Of course today I am unpacking my loot and so happy with everything I bought and house will never smell better.

Oh no ... I'm not surprised he was upset. I hope he'll appreciate them more when they're in use - the scent, ambience, etc.

Your home will be fragrant for the next year! Eleven boxes must have been quite the sight. I'll bet hubby's guns and amo have you beat!

I've definitely been in your shoes before. My hubby is generally a pretty good sport...but sometimes those boxes are a bit embarrassing when they all show up at once.

@nomar, I would really love to know which of ALL (Ha!) those candles are your favorites. Thanks.

We have Ring and Blink cameras so my husband see’s all deliveries made by UPS. Didn’t know what I was getting into with these cameras.

I had a similar experience with UPS delivering all my orders at once. My husband, who is wonderful and never denies me a thing, actually took a picture of the stacked boxes after I brought them in and emailed the picture to his female boss! She knows how much I love and order from QVC. Still, I was not happy he did that. That stunt cost him an extra box or two to arrive later in the week!

One day my husband sarcastically asked if I would like him to put in a "loading dock" on the front porch.

I smiled sweetly and said, "sure, start building."

They have a convenient way of forgetting what they spend money on when that UPS truck shows up with a delivery for YOU!

Thank goodness I never ordered anything without DH's understanding II couldn't live with the stress of having to sneak things in. Just not my style. Any time he had a problem with my ordering anything from anywhere (rarely ever happened) the order got canceled right away. Nothing was ever more important to me than our mutual agreement on everything. Love that man so much and miss him so desperately.

Anytime I complain about my hubby spending money on something (which is not often), he quickly turns it around and comments on all my QVC spending. So to counteract that, I am buying less and less. I don't need a thing and need to save more than I already do. My money is for my retirement, not those of the QVC hosts!

And I would like to add that, at times, I have been embarassed at all that showed up for me at once. One summer day two years ago, my HS graduated son said to me, "I am still going to college, right?" as he saw me bring in all my packages.

I can relate Rolypoly. Hate you got busted but it did make me laugh.
I never get home from work until after 7 pm so I don’t stand a chance. My hubby hasn’t complained.
But I do come home and catch him watching Hoarders! I know he’s wondering. Haha.

This is funny, as my husband does my ordering! Granted, I don't buy a whole lot, but when I want something, I give him a list when I see him sitting at the computer. Although the stuff I buy is usually from Amazon or a woman's clothing catalog.

For some strange reason he is happy when I buy stuff.

pupwhipped....I lit the pumpkin caramel popcorn right away. His pumpkin scents are pretty good. I love all the winter scents, but not food scents, so I am surprised I like pumpkin. Will not order any floral ones or drink scented ones like last year. After getting this load, I may not order any for a couple years. Been downstairs trying to organize my candle collection and I do believe I just MIGHT have a hoarder problem. When I worked I bought a bunch of Slatkin and Co. candles, but being at work I did not get to burn them like I can now that I am at home all the time. I found several of the ones from that time period. Luckily, they still are scented and will be fine, but my candle buying days are over for quite some time since I have this huge stash now. The good thing is, hubby does not complain about Slatkin candles burning, but he does about other brands.
