That's not what I would call rustic. I like the room itself, but I'd change out the contents.

I think I like it without the window treatment and black and white accessories. I like those but they don't mix with this room.

The wood and fixtures are so nice to look at in themselves.

The rustic and the sort of modern black and white, and florals just compete with each other to my eye.

I find both pictures tolerable. I do like the black and white plaid, but not the other black and white patterns. If this were in my house, I would have to add something red.

Not my style but in the right setting I think it would be nice. Not sure I would call it "rustic". I like the Black & White but agree with @RedTop - it needs a little "pop" of color.

The cabinetry in the bathroom is too large and white IMO. Maybe smaller cabinets in a slightly warmer white color. Love the walls though.

To the posters who do not think the cottage is rustic. I disagree.

if you look closely, you will see that there is no trim on the paneling between the walls and ceiling. You can see where the wood was cut and it isn't even. There is no trim in the corners where the two walls meet also.

it is furnished so nicely, that the rustic unfinished areas are not noticed at first. It is especially noticeable in the bedroom.
