Does anyone have interior brick paver flooring? I want to redo a kitchen and powder room floor with pavers. If you have it, what brand do you have and how do you like it? Can you post a picture? Thank you!

I have it in my Kitchen, Dining room and front entry. If you really want to go that way let me tell you it's a royal pain to keep clean. You can't mop it like a regular floor. I can vacuum it and sweep it but I have to clean it by hand. I ended up putting rugs down to avoid having to clean the whole area. The previous owners got it from Home Depot. What ever you do make sure to have the floor sealed to help with clean up.

Pavers are a big thing around pools, patios and walkways in Arizona but not for inside the house. We have them on our back patio, front walkway and down the side of our driveway. I don’t think they would work for inside the house as someone said they might be a pain to clean. How about Saltillo tile instead?

But, there are pros and cons to using brick inside. Make sure you research it thoroughly before making your decision. Just a couple things to consider. Brick is very porus, so it must be sealed, or you could end up with mold and mildew from water spills. The uneven surface may be difficult for some people to walk on, (especially the elderly or toddlers). Standing on it for long periods of time can cause back, feet and leg fatigue/pain.

If you decide to go ahead and install brick floors, I hope you will post pictures.

Anything made of brick needs to be sealed. Otherwise the bricks will absorb stuff, get dirty and stained. Then the only way you will be able to clean them is by sand blasting and that can get very expensive. I had my brick fireplace surround cleaned by sand blasting and it came out looking brand new but it was a mess to do and costly.

We had it in the entry of our last house. It is a pain and it is a 1980's country look (like with duck wallpaper boarders in the kitchen and navy blue and mauve countertops). I hated it because it was rough on your feet, and hard to keep clean, plus it looked dark and sort of grungy. If you put a top coat on it it is shiny, which I don't like either.

I wouldn't recommend it. We looked at a beautiful house that had it in the kitchen and dining area off the kitchen, and I walked away from buying the house because of it. It makes a floor look really busy and calls attention to itself. If it is red brick color, it also clashes with a lot of colors you might want to use.

Maybe it's just me, but not at all my cup of tea.
