I prefer to buy the lock & lock sets that stack together with their lids. I have a few - very few - ones where I have to store the lids separately and those are all in one( 87cent at Lowes) plastic bin which also holds the plastic covers for a few Temptations cassaroles. I have found I don't need much plasticware. One shelf in one cabinet and that bin to hold lids on another shelf is totally all I own.

I like these kinds of storage ideas, but......they really don't hold everything I need to store in a particular area.

I don't have a lot of cabinet space in this house, either in the kitchen or in the baths. When using these storage aids, there is a lot of square footage left unusable.

I dream of redoing my kitchen, and think about/look at various cabinet and drawer layouts. Many are really handy (like the lazy susan corner cabinet units), and I really want to go with things that make life easier (than the unable to reach caverns in many of my corner cabinets), but realize I'm going to really loose actual storage space.

When we remodeled our Pa kitchen I wanted one of those lazy susan cabinets but when I got it, I hated it! Stuff would fall off the shelves and be stuck in the back & you had to practically crawl all the way into the cabinet to reach it. Once a jar of beets broke when it fell off the top shelf and DH had to completely remove the entire lazy susan so I could clean it up. NEVER AGAIN for this woman.

I'm going to take a leaf from your book here and purge my plastic of anything that isn't perfectly smooth. I hate having to deal with the mismatch of lids, so the pics here are great for those bins for storage of the lids and the mesh file holder is another perfect idea along with the little shelf that slides onto the shelf above. After I purge, I'll figure out how to store the lids. I have lock & lock, but I do have some others that will have to be dealt with.

@151949. Now they have some clear plastic triangular shaped containers for those lazy susans into which you put cans, bottles and jars so they're easy to find and won't fall off. You can use just one or several to cove the whole shelf.
