Need suggestions please

On removing blood stains from berber carpeting. My little dog took a fall a couple days ago and ripped off 2 toenails. Running all through the living room yelping, leaving blood spots everywhere. I've taken her to the vet to get checked thoroughly, and she'll be ok. I have used a complete bottle of stain remover, 2 tanks of cleaner with water and 2 hours. Thought I had gotten the blood up, but once the carpet completely dried, the spots still show. Thanks for any advice.

Straight hydrogen peroxide was used by the RN’s at the donor center whenever a donor got blood on clothing during the donation process.

I got blood on a brand new shirt there the first time I wore it; peroxide removed the blood completely, and did not affect the color of my shirt.

Usually soaking then washing an item in COLD water will remove a blood stain.

Ditto the hydrogen peroxide. works like a charm. It will foam up when it hits blood. Let it sit a few minutes and blot with a towel. Repeat as neeed.

If you don't have any hp on hand, try cold salt water.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I will get some hydrogen peroxide tomorrow. Little girl (my avatar) is going to be ok. Pain pills and antibiotics for a while. One toenails got ripped completely off, another was all jagged and had to be removed. I've been just sick about it, but stuff happens, just glad it wasn't worse. Thanks again.

Please find out how that happened and fix it, as if you haven't already. My cat ran into a drawer pull when I lived in our 1979 5th wheel travel trailer in college and poked a hole into his side with all of the fur too! $800 surgery later, he is fine. I removed all the lower drawer pulls that had these pointed but not sharp bars that were fixed to the drawers with two screws. Horrible 1970s decor! I did have burnt orange shag carpet too! Shag carpet and cat litter do not mix.....I could have had a black hole for a vacuum cleaner and still not able to get it all out of the carpet. I now have litter free boxes.

If looking for a commercial product, if the peroxide doesn't work, try Spot Shot. I've never had a stain it didn't get out.

zout on clothes stains spray & leave it for 1 or 2 days works for me

i allso agree with the poroxcide. i got a bloody nose one night and sheets pillow case and matress were bloody and poroxcide took it out and off matress.

Spot Shot is the best! I have very little carpet in the house but I always have a can of this around. Rugs, carpet, car upholstery you name this product removes stains. I was able to get Black Sharpie marker out of an ivory carpet!!!

Peroxide is great for blood stains. I always have a bottle on hand for laundry.

I was an RN. At the stores where they sell uniform clothing, they also sell stain remover. Works great!

@Snicks1 Liquid dish soap usually removes blood from clothing in the wash.I happen to use Palmolive, but I think most would work.

Thanks again everyone. I wanted to come back and report that the hydrogen peroxide worked like a charm. Can't believe I didn't already know this, lol. Edited to correct spelling.
