I am planning my Fairy land for the summer. Thought I would share a few ideas from Pinterest that caught my eye.

I find this enchanting, but it you are not a Fairy lover you might find it a little creepy. Baby Fairy in a nest:

<IMG src="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/6f/a9/8b/6fa98bd487d120cd8a6c1243342f7b3e.jpg" alt="Fairy Nursery #6 This is an original One-of-a-kind Art Doll Fairy Baby on a nest whose head has been hand-sculpted from polymer clay and painted with Genesis oil paints. The wigging is made from white mohair. The body is wire covered with fibers and skeleton leaves. The nest is made from twigs and dried grass and decorated with, feathers, dried ivy leaves, and glitter. The nest measures 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) in diameter. ?

Hi whitelinen! Yes, I am into fairy gardening big time!!! I set one up underneath our weeping cherry tree every year, and each year it gets bigger & bigger! The fairies should have their own zip code pretty soon, lol! My latest addition is a miniature water garden that actually circulates the water ~ just like we would have if you're fortunate enough to have a koi pond. I also set up a miniature fairy display on our mantel in the den. I have it all set up for spring already. I like to use Cicely Mary Barker's fairy ornaments for the inside display and cast iron fairies for outside. I'll try to post some pictures later on ~ right now I need to go pay attention to the husband (Valentine's Day, you know)!

I love the houses you posted, Whitelinen. I kind of like the fairy gardens that don't have any figurines. It's like stumbling on a fairy village, knowing that all of the fairies are hiding.

Whitelinen, I love your fairy ideas. I don't find the baby fairy in the nest creepy, but I tend to like off beat things, LOL.

I really love the fairy house with the moss roof.

Some of the nicer nurseries in my area stock fairy garden accessories. Two years ago, I invested a lot of money in some fairy garden items. (we had our first grand daughter and I wanted to make something she could look at with me and dream about). For the live plants, I planted some Japanese painted ferns, some Irish moss and also three dwarf conifers. I ended up loosing one of the dwarf conifers- if I remember correctly, they dwarf bushes were $15 each and they stand only about 6" high. I think I spent at least $150 on the other items. I have two fairy cottages-neither comes close to the houses you posted. Putting a fairy garden together takes a lot of thought on just how to design it, and I didn't really do that- I just bought all of these things and placed them in a small area near my back door to our patio. It was cute, but nothing really stunning like the photos you posted.

Your photos make me want to try and really tweak my fairy garden this spring. I like the comment Marsha made on liking the absence of fairies in a fairy garden. I never thought about it- but she has a point. Maybe fairy gardens are more interesting, and leave more to the imagination, if they are absent of fairy figures.

whitelinen--if you love the fairies and all things magical like I do (and I know that you do!) you must (I don't mean to be pushy here, but...!) go to www.coppercurls.com and click on 'garden sculptures'--you will be enchanted! Read all about the artist (whom I've met) and her wonderful creations and get lost in the fantasy! All of my fairies are from her--most of them are on the smaller side, with a few larger ones, collected over a period of several years. They can be seen peeking out amongst the flowers, dancing around trees; a mermaid watches over our birdbath. I wish I knew how to post pictures. (I'm lucky I can post words!) It's so nice to read all about other fairy gardens!

ETA--My mermaid is the small one. If you scroll down towards the bottom you'll see all the dancing fairies, which I have the most of in my garden.
