When you spray bug spray

Need to spray ahead of the season for bugs. Do you spray outside around perimeter etc first OR do you spray inside first?

We have a service and they only spray outside unless we are seeing ants or something inside - then they treat that with those little puffers.

I never spray inside unless I've already found some ants (or whatever) inside the house. I already know where they come in (back door off of kitchen), so I periodically spray around the door jam, but especially at the bottom of the door on the outside. That seems to keep them out.

@goldensrbest Yes, I spray outside at the base of the back door and around the door jams, because that's where I've seen them trying to come in (ants). You have to respray after a rain, of course, but it works for me.

We have monthly service with Dodson Pest Control; we treat the perimeter, garage and basement, but NO inside spraying.

We have never sprayed for bugs inside our home.

We do spray around our house & around the perimeter plus wood fence. The Company that sprays for weeds also applies insect control to the lawn when he sprays the lawn.

Many years ago our dog got fleas very bad - so bad we had to take her to the vet to have them treated because nothing at home was working. He said he was keeping her several days and while she was there we should have the house treated. Terminex came and sprayed outside in the yard and inside the house, including the carpet and her dog bed- even though I had washed it in the washer.

That & once when we had bees in the house & they set off bombs are the only times I've ever had the inside sprayed.

No bugs here. I'm in Colorado. Maybe just a few ants. But I can live with that, no problem.

Thanks so much everyone. Seems that I can just do the spraying outside which is a good thing.

Years ago when we had a cat in our family home it brought fleas into the basement. The cat did not live in there so not sure why that was the only area that got the fleas!

We lost so much stored in that basement Had to get an exterminator to get rid of the fleas.

We spray outside first around the pertimeter and then inside at the bottom of all the doorways.

My landlord has laid down pellets outside all around the house and recently has sprayed in our crawl space but we still get ants. I forgot last night to plug up the drain in the kitchen and they came in, lots of them. My landlord says give it a week and if we are still infested with ants he'll call in an exterminating service. Tihis has been a bad infestation for us.

We spray outside by the doors, and also we spray our basement really well, hubby will do it this weekend. It is finally 50 degrees here, after a snowstorm last weekend! lol!!!!!!
