I saw this grouping, and I didn't love it.

Then I saw the rest of the room and I liked it much better.

What do you think about the "big" picture?

I do see what you mean-- the first picture is a bit stylized, but "the whole picture" is quite coherent.

I really like the cool blue and white mixed with burnished leather and bleached wood!

As far as pictures go, it’s a nice room. I don’t love it; don’t even like it. Too “prissy” for me.

Something is just off with this room.Too much blue/white. I don't care for the blue walls. Needs some more natural/ wood elements and greenery.

Too much furniture. May feel different if furniture was placed differently. The chairs seem odd facing each other in front of the fireplace.

I think the two chairs by the fireplace are sitting too close together. If two people were sitting in them you’d be knee to knee. I would try facing them towards the fireplace at an angle making a separate seating area from the two couches.

To me it just looks staged like it might be set up in a fancy hotel or even a bed and breakfast or just for an architectural magazine.

Anyway, it just doesn't look like a lived in home.

A room that is "trying too hard."

Too many sharp, squared angles. I'd try an oval coffee table (preferably with clawfoot legs to match the chairs) to soften the room. Only one lamp in the entire room? How do people read a book, newspaper or work a crossword puzzle? Love the blue and white with the leather chairs, but not facing either other. Needs some yellow or salmon in some doses.

If I had to choose between the two, I like the first because it is simple. Two chairs and a fireplace. I imagine great conversation and warmth and glow from the fire.

The whole room is too crowded and the way it is arranged, makes it look like a hallway. and the chairs aren't turned to include the people that would be sitting on the sofas. Not enough space to be two distinct areas, and not arranged to be welcoming as an entire group.

I don’t think those two chairs belong with that grouping. They really stand out. They remind me of Beast chair from Beauty and the Beast

I think this is meant for a scholar. Someone who takes their fireside chats VERY seriously.

The couches/sofas are meant for socializing; the chairs for serious discussion, perhaps with brandy at hand.

I can't imagine many men who could sit on those sofas and have enough knee/leg room! I love the blue/white theme though. I'd also need small side tables by the fireplace chairs for my glass of wine...lol!

I would center the couches around the fireplace and put the chairs at the other end turned in and not so close to each other.

UGH..........I have a marble faced fireplace.......in Arizona. Don't know what the previous owner was thinking. I "might" replace it with rock or brick.........but I don't know if it's worth the money.............

I would remove the coral pieces from the mantle.

It's a nice room, but too many knick knacks.
