Rearranging Your Furniture ~ How Often?

Just curious......how often do you rearrange your furniture patterns in different spaces in your home?

I change mine about twice a year but move accessories much more often. Sometimes I love to move furniture from one room to another.

How about you?

I never rearrange furniture. My home is not large and I long ago found the best placement for the furniture. Physically, I'm not able to move heavy pieces, so it stays where it is.

I move the living room furniture twice a year. I was just thinking I missed the last switch and do I want to do it. I don't move furniture in other rooms due to where the walls or windows are. I change decor in the kitchen and living room seasonally.

In my younger days I switched things up a few times a year. Now days, pretty much never. I think the set up now works well for our rooms. We have some pieces that can't be easil moved like our enormous aquariums. Our piano also needs to be in the correct spot.

I haven't rearranged my furniture in years. My house is small, and I feel like the arrangement in every room is the best it can be. I bought a new sofa a few years ago and a new leather chair a few years before that. Other than that I haven't changed much. I'm very happy with the way things are arranged.

Never, EVER! I didn't get that from my mother. She changed it up constantly. My dad and I had to be careful or we would go to sit down in a chair that was there thirty minutes earlier only to find it had been moved across the room. And also find our butts on the floor! LOL!!!!!!!

Never. We moved into our house 13 years ago. We placed the furniture and there it stays.

I have no desire to rearrange the furniture. I am familiar with the arrangement and don't want to mess with it. I can move around with ease and also the dog. The dog frequently moves around at night. I leave lights on for him after I go to bed. But I want to make sure he has no trouble moving around. The dog is used to a certain traffic pattern and I am not sure how well he would adjust to a different route. He does not handle change very well.

Pretty much never.

I have a few large pieces like a king bed on an inside wall and a dining table that can only be positioned one way.

I figure out what works for good flow and sight lines. Done.

In my younger, physically able days, I thought nothing of moving a desk from one room to another, even upstairs or down, and would move furniture whenever the mood struck.

Those days are behind me. But also, the furniture is in reasonably OK spots now.

I'm looking forward to making furniture placement decisions in a yet-to-be-found new home later this year.

I never move my antiques. Everything is placed to add access to a room or so the item can be used. Actually, I built this house around the antiques. My house is in 'My "Country" Christmas' thread.

I really don't. Once in awhile I'll think of an improvement in a room's function (better workspace, sitting arrangement) and I might change it up a bit. Or in an instance for say, surgical recuperation.

I do play with the decor frequently.

Never... Granted, we're in a condo now and our options are limited. But we didn't rearrange furniture when we were in a 10 room colonial. I changed other things but I don't move the furniture around.

When I was a teen, I used to rearrange my bedroom furniture pretty often. Now I never change up my furniture except for my outdoor patio furniture. I seem to move it around a few times during the summer months depending on my needs and people who are visiting to make it more comfortable to talk and or eat.
