Unconventional Shoe Storage

I saw this from a Swedish blogger's home.

What do you think of this idea for shoe storage?

I have one pair of boots that are showcase worthy, although I have many pairs of "unique" boots.

I love the cabinet but I don't think I'd store my stilettos in it in my dining room (as it appears it may be here!).

@lolakimono I love that idea for handbags. I remember when Nate Berkus had a tv show, he used an older glass front armoire for handbags in a makeover of a woman's house. It looked great.

That's the problem though, you'd have to have showcase worthy things.

Oh and her bedroom is very lovely @lolakimono. Now this I could do. Love the blue (though none of my rooms are blue, never has been a color choice of mine). And yes this would definitely work.

Based on the age of this home (my perception due to the wallpaper seams and tiny moulding at the ceiling) I think it is a quirky vintage harmonious look that I rather like.

It is also functional. I used to keep my shoes in their shoeboxes. Now that my closet has shoe shelves it is so much easier to see all my shoes and quickly make a selection for the day.

I really like the white storage cabinet but not so much the vintage cabinet. I like the white room with pink couch? Only see a glimpse of it.

@lolakimono Thanks. I've been surrounded with darks walls and paneling for so long. Now that I've lightened some of mine rooms I love lighter with a pop of color. I'll tackle the four bedrooms this spring. I'm getting some great ideas.

This is another practical solution and it works. Just tuck the rack into the corner beside a chest of drawers or place it in your walk-in closet. They are available in three, four and five tiered racks from amazondotcom.

I wouldn't store my shoes in a nice chest like that.

I guess I think shoes should be in a closet, and not seen in the room unless they are show worthy-

(like maybe your purple boots).

But even those I would get tired of looking at after awhile. Maybe for a fun change for a little bit.

I think shoes

should be easy to see and pull out, like a regular canvas shoe bag -in the closet.

And I would hope I never had that many shoes.

And that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!😄

I only have four purses (yep, they are so lowly that they don't even qualify for the designation of 'handbag') and maybe a total of eight pairs of shoes, so this kind of storage isn't necessary for me.

That said, especially those tall white cabinets, if located in a bedroom or huge walk in closet are a really unique way to showcase the items, keep them dust free, and so easy to see what you have and access when needed. Smart!
