Look at my post above with a pic of another Duraflame model which has a doiley and a fiber optic tree on top

@Susan Louise

I know the heat comes from the bottom and I have three of these heaters but I was talking about people asking if they could put TVs on the top. Not so much concerned about the heat, although I don't think it would be a good idea, but about the size of a TV, possibly overwhelming the heater. The larger the space the more items people may try to put on top. I like the beveled top as it gives it a nicer look than being flat.

I have at least 9 heaters, my favorite are the ones that look like lanterns, but I love the stove ones as well.

The TSV has the newer 3D flame technology and looks more like real flame than most of the older models. You will probably like that feature, anything to make it look more real is good.

The TSV has the infrared quartz heat, which heats a bigger area than the older style and while not a brand new feature, it is definitely an upgrade.

The TSV has the remote and some smaller models don't have that. The remote is great cause you don't have to get out of bed or off the couch to adjust things or turn on and off. Very handy.

Adjustable flame brightness, and ability to use just the flame look without the heat is nice for ambiance in the warmer weather. I find I often turn on just the flame on summer evenings for the atmosphere in the room, when I don't need heat.

This one appears to have a thermostat and a timer, something many of their offerings lately haven't had. I know a lot of people were requesting those features be brought back (I have it on one of my older heaters), and makes the heater more user friendly. You can set a temp, and it should go off when the room reaches that temp then come back on when the temp drops below. Or you can set it to run for just so many hours, then shut off. Again, much more user friendly.

I think this has great features for the price. Fully loaded with their options for under $100 is a great deal. I just don't like the style of the heater. It is too modern and straight lined for my tastes. I like the ones that look more like a real old stove.

I love all my heaters and wouldn't want to be without them anymore! Use them everyday during the colder months.

I have last year's model and love it! I use it in our sunroom -- we have HVAC there but in the winter it's just not enough heat. So, with this heater I can sit in the sunroom (20x20) early in the morning or in the evening and enjoy some cozy heat during the cold weather. The electric bill hasn't taken a noticeable hit. The flame effect is realistic and my model has the infrared unit at the top -- different from this year's model. I like how it cycles on and off depending on the preset temperature and it's pretty quiet.

We've been having some colder then normal temperatures here in DFW so I am enjoying the time with this heater!

I purchased one several years ago to put in my husband's man cave which is a pretty big room. It worked well. Then my son came and "borrowed" it for his apartment. My husband had a heart attack earlier this year so is on blood thinners and is usually cold so I purchased the TSV in bronze. I think it's an attractive unit, hope it works as well as it looks and as good as my previous one.

However, I wanted to see if supplementing it with an electric heater would help with lowering my overall heating bill and it DID NOT. My electricity portion on my bill was significantly higher and, although my gas bill was a bit lower, there was no total net savings.

We have 4 of the Duraflame heaters. Two of them are the smaller portable heaters in black from 2 yrs ago (V33515) we use in our basement...LOVE the ease/portability with the handle!

The other two we got from QVC when it was the TSV (4-5 yrs ago now?). It is taller (28.75") and has a mesh screen on the front and sides (V33285). We got a 'cream' for our bedroom and the black one we use in our livingroom.

Although the new TSV Duraflame heater looks really nice with the new 3D technology of the logs, Duraflame hasn't made another TSV heater that is at least the height of the ones we have. The one today is only 24" high. I don't understand why the company decided to make the heaters so much shorter.

Because of our set up in the livingroom, the near 5" of height loss would make it difficult for us to enjoy the flame/log effect because our coffee table would block most of the heater when sitting down on the couches. I'm so glad we got the ones from a few yrs ago.

I even called Duraflame to ask them if they would make upgraded versions of this style of heater back to near 29" in height or a bit taller. I guess I was the only one to make the suggestion and it fell on deaf ears...LOL

Below is a pic of what our 28.75" heater looks like next to our Christmas tree. I can't imagine having the new TSV heater and it only being 24" high...which is just too short for us IMO

I think it would be so cool if they made the new TSV in the size of the ones we both have! I think we paid $129 or $139 4 yrs ago for the ones we have...

On the up-side, it does save us money not wanting to buy the new version though

Look at my post above with a pic of another Duraflame model which has a doiley and a fiber optic tree on top
