Hobby Lobby Halloween Question

Hi Everyone -

Our first ever Hobby Lobby just opened up near my home on Long Island. I have to say that I am OBSESSED with it! I have been going in there at least two times a week and I never leave empty handed.

I do have a question though -- Does Hobby Lobby sell Halloween merchandise? I have noticed that the store is decked out for fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (wow!!), but there isn't anything for Halloween yet. My husband is a Halloween fanatic and I thought he would go crazy in there with decorations for the holiday, but so far I haven't seen a thing.

So, do they sell Halloween stuff? If so, do they have fun as well as "scary" decorations?

Our local HL in Texas has a mixture of Fall/Halloween stuff. It was scattered tho. Fall in 1 section, Halloween in another. I was there last week & only shopping for fall, but saw some Halloween.

@Grade1Teach I love Hobby Lobby and go there often. They sell Halloween decorations, both scary and fun. Halloween is my favorite holiday to decorate for.

I love Hobby Lobby .. I think I have gotten Holloween stuff in there .. but

that would have been a year ago ...

I would not be suprised if they did not as they are a religious organization ...

thats why they are closed on Sundays....

My daughter in law works at a nursery school run by a church and they do

not do Holloween either ....Stick to your beliefs ....

our HL has a small selection right now mixed in with beautiful fall things.

I've found great Halloween things at Old Time Pottery. It's a huge store filled with everything -- the home decor section is huge. I need to close my eyes thru the "seasonal" decor area!!!! I can't stop myself. Prices are great!

not sure they have one in your area.

The Hobby Lobby near me sells some Halloween stuff, but it does seem to lean more towards "fall" decor.

Just want to add to download the Hobby Lobby app. You get a coupon that you can keep renewing every week. I've also found coupons in my local papers.

I was gasping air yesterday, at next week already being August!!! Now I read Halloween! This year is the fastest year so far, passing quickly by. It's amazing.

I guess I'll need to visit our HL again soon. It's just interesting to walk through.

Yes, I do know that they are a Christian - based company, so that's why I was thinking that maybe they don't sell Halloween items.

Glad to hear they do though. Not surprising to hear that there won't be anything "gory", but I look forward to seeing the other more child-friendly items they have (although my husband won't lol).

I agree with QualityGal -- I feel like fall and Christmas are coming out in full force very early this year. I don't mind because the fall items get me excited for my favorite season, but it's just crazy to see.

I'm happy to hear that your Hobby Lobby sells some scary things as well. Maybe some do/don't depending on location.

My husband LOVES Halloween. He still dresses up (for our kids) and really gets into the spirit. He does love to deck the outside of the house out in scary decorations (I decorate more "cutesy" for the girls inside), but since we had our children, he's compromised. They are only 3 and 6 years old, so he does a mix of child-friendly and not over-the-top scary stuff. He asks the girls how they feel about something before he puts it out.

Have fun decorating for Halloween this year. It will be here before we know it!

Your Old Time Pottery store sounds like fun!! No, we don't have any on LI, but I'm almost glad we don't at this point. I have all I can handle with Hobby Lobby being so close to my house right now!

Thank you for letting me know about the app! I will definitely check it out! I have been going on their website and receiving their emails - They always have a 40% off coupon available that way.

Right now all fall decor is automatically 40% off, so I haven't needed to use the coupon in about 2 weeks. However, I saw a really cute gingerbread family figure (they remind me of Valerie's). I could have used the coupon for that, but I held off. I'll probably end up getting it this week though. lol

The new store is right by me. I was there Thursday. Were you? Perhaps we passed each other. I saw a few halloween things but passed quickly by that section as I have more decorations than I need. Learned that they are opening stores next year in Bay Shore and Massapequa.

I was there Thursday morning and then again yesterday. Maybe we did cross paths! lol

The only Halloween items I saw were some vase fillers/long stemmed flower things, but that's it. I didn't see any actual Halloween items. Where did you see them? I can't believe I missed it!

I had no idea they were opening up more stores. That's great! Every time I go in there it's packed. I'm assuming that people are traveling from near and far to check it out. Hopefully new locations will alleviate some of the craziness in that particular store.

I went in there the day it opened with my two girls. We waited on line for over an hour. The manager told me that they didn't expect that kind of response from customers on opening day. I'm glad the store is being well-received here.

As a side note -- What do you think will happen to the Michael's that is in that shopping center (near Target)? I'm afraid it's going to go out of business. I still go in there too, but I'm not buying much, if anything. I would be sad to see it go. That one is such a nice store too.

Yes, it's the one in Commack. You should really go when you can. I have never been to a Hobby Lobby in another state, so I didn't have a clue what it was really about. I don't feel like we have a single store like it on Long Island. It's like a mix of Michael's, Home Goods, and TJ Maxx (minus the clothing) all in one.
