Looks so inviting, warm and cozy. Love the kitchen not the ceiling though. I think it takes the height away. Very nice home.

like the home,,,,lots of windows, open space, use of wood, furniture not so much. The furniture is acceptable because of the home.

There was a point where we had several IKEA peices in our apt, after 24 years of marriage we still have one which was a PIA to put together

Never understood the fascination with IKEA or it's 'stuff', as anything I've seen I hesitate to call it furniture.

Maybe I haven't seen the right things, but it all looks modern or cheap to me.

Some day I'll go to their website and see if I can change my mind!

Ikea pieces fit well into European homes because of the style of the rooms, basically just rooms with walls. (My opinion) When I've gone into Ikea showrooms, cabinets and furniture don't fit so perfectly into American houses, unless the house is built to accommodate Ikea kitchens etc.

Don't get me wrong, I like Ikea, in fact, I had used Ikea furniture when I lived in Europe. It fits through doors easily, have useful storage pieces, and it was reasonably priced. I even bought baby furniture, it was definitely built better than what I could get shipped from America. I sold and gave away most of what I had before coming home. I only kept the baby bed and linens since my son was 6 months old at the time and wanted him to stay comfortable with what he was used to at that age.

@Mominohio I don't care for a lot of their stuff as well. Some of it is nice, but I was not that impressed when I visited the store in Illinois, now in Wisconsin we are building one-should be done mid-2018. Not that excited......... A lot of people are though and my brother and sister in law bought a lot of things from there for their home, and it was so pretty-but It is very modern to me too......

I have a whole book on Scandivavian interiors because for some reason I just love their style. i love the slightly random, almost naive look of the rooms, their whimsical nature, the array of vibrant pastel colors used that make the most of Northern light...

It's a tradtiion that has deep roots. Thinking of Carl Larrson's charming interiors, and even Isak Dinesen. When she came back to Denmark from Kenya after Denys Finch-Hatton's death, she filled her Danish house in a slightly more stately but still typically charming and spontaneous way...
