I go to estate sales, yard sales and thrift stores looking for unique frames. If you buy new, you can spend a fortune. If there is already a picture in the frame, I may keep it if I like it but more likely than not, I will replace the picture and keep the frame. If I'm really frisky, I'll have a mirror put into it.

If I were to walk into an estate sale and see this, I probably would break out in a cold sweat!

2 unikely places to find good lampshades.

The Better Homes & Gardens brand at Walmart and the lighting section at Lowe's.

I also like the idea of painting the ceiling.

I have 3 shades of green in my kitchen/dining room.

A nice medium green on the walls, dark green trim and pale green on the ceiling.

I can't remember what was shown in all the pictures. LOL. I liked a pop of color and didn't like wall papered ceilings.
