Beautiful and interesting because DH and I were discussing this. His family had a lake house and at the time (30 years) they were modest, usually for trips to the lake from their regular residence. Then people started living at the lakes full time, and my in-laws as well but their house remained modest. We all started to notice that money was really being infused into these homes, larger and larger and more ornate. One we would pass by made our jaws drop.... even 30 years ago it had to have been a million dollar plus home, with an elaborate and expensive dock, etc. etc.

It's been a transition that has been intersting....

lol -- Just yesterday as I drove along one of the prettiest streets in our town, I thought to myself that I should buy a lottery ticket and get a new house. Totally ridiculous of course, so I bought a piece of fish to make for dinner.

Fish was good. Would it have tasted even better in that dining room?

Not really fond of this one although it's nice being on a lake. I'm sure it's very peaceful. And I do like the green room - I have one too and love it!

I think it is in southern WI, possibly just west of Milwaukee. Look at the trees. Not up north.

Did the article say where this beautiful house is?

Ok, ok, just saw that it is Green Lake and yes there are some really great homes around there. I have never been there. I love the house, btw.

It is 30 minutes West of Fond Du Lac, so not exactly Northern Wisconsin.....But it is North from me....

Could it be "The House on the Rock" in Spring Green, WI? That is a little west of Madison. I visited there many years ago.
