What Can I Put On This? (UPDATED)

This is a metal stand that I have. I used to have an urn with a silk plant on it. I'm tired of silk plants and would like to do something else. I really like the stand and don't want to give it up. I can't come up with anything to put on it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm sorry it's not a better picture.

Edited to say: This is in my living room. It's a casual living room. It's actually in the space between my living room and dining table area.

You could get something different to put in the urn. Home Goods or Pier One should have something.

Thanks for the suggestion @GCR18. That's a good idea. What would I get though? I'm really tired of silk plants. I do have some white/ivory silk tulips in a vase on one side of my mantel. I have ivory Staffordshire dogs in the middle and a silk topiary in an ivory pot on the other side. I actually love my mantel but feel that's enough silk flowers in the room.

Is that a vase on top of the book? That might be an item to try on your stand till you find something special. I'm also tired of my silk plants and plan on moving them out.

I like your lizard! I'd put a frog or owl.......or some other piece of "nature" on the stand.................

I would put a reproduction of a retro radio on it....I play the radio often during the day!

@hoosieroriginal Thanks for the suggestion. I had a plant on it at one time. It was a low light plant, but it died. That space really doesn't get much light at all. It did look good though, while it lasted.

I think it depends on what room the stand is located in. Is it in a den, bedroom, etc?

@claros Funny you should mention that. When my housekeeper was here the last time she put the vase on the stand. I hadn't mentioned it to her, but when I got home it was like that. It looked pretty good, but I missed having it on the chest. Maybe I will revisit that idea.

Pier one has non flower items. Look on their website and search sprays.

Thanks @Desertdi. I love that lizard. A friend gave it to me years ago when she visited an art village somewhere. She gave me a copper snake, too, for another occasion, that's large and is circling up. (That's probably not the right way to say that.) I have it on my screened in porch.

A piece of nature on the stand is a good idea, too. I'll look into ideas for that.

I thought about that, too, @claros. The red vase on the desk might look good........give it a try until something else strikes you fancy LOL.

@tends2dogs I hadn't thought about the register, but that might have contributed to the plant that I had on the stand at one time dying. I blamed it on lack of light, but it could have been both.

@DREAMON It's my living room. It's casual though. I don't have a formal living room. I should have said that in my OP. I may edit it.

You could also affix a tray to the top to maximize the surface area, and then your items wouldn't get knocked over by an overzealous pet.
