I'm a lover of clocks and have way more than I need so I'm not shopping, but they have some pretty ones of all types and prices on Zulily today. Some are very expensive but fun to look at. Take a peek if you love clocks too.

Thanks for posting this as I love clocks too!

Some of those more pricy Hermle clocks have works made in Germany. I have never owned one, but have heard people say they are quality clocks.

Many years ago I use to make decorative wall clocks. I made them as gifts. I made them with stones, tile and other things that I found laying around. Some were so unique that people wanted to buy them. Wish I had taken pictures of them.

@Desertdi About 85° here today and not windy. About the same for next 2 days then a nice cool down. I'm getting a new roof and need a new swamp cooler so trying to arrange this with minimal "hot" time in June is making me crazy. Don't have my old one hooked up yet.

@Kachina624 Sending you "good vibes" that your home repairs go well. I had a new roof last year, and also a BIG plumbing problem. I always PANIC when this stuff happens. I haven't had the a/c on yet (I am always cold until it hits 105°). I anticipate that when I "hit the switch", it's gonna go THUNK and start wheezing. It's ancient and I probably waited too long to replace it.........di

I've spend over $20,000 replacing the polybutylene pipe in my house plus more outside from the house to the meter plus $1,000 to repair all the sheet rock they tore up plus more for excess water due to leaks. I'm the Queen of plumbing repairs.

@Kachina624 EEK! You've got me beat! My plumbing was $7,000......but they tore up my driveway.......which was "extra"..........

Of course, the neighbors all had to come by and "watch" and ask what on earth I had put down my drains. Yeah.....uh huh.................

i saw yesterday on fixer upper where she had a built in breakfast nook and to decorate it she put about 6 clocks on the wall next to the table. Of course - they were all old & battered - you know she loves that look. But I thought that was a neat idea.

I also think it would look neat if you had a bunch of retro midcentury clocks all together in a breakfast nook, and esp. if you could find one of those formica table & chair sets from the 50's.

I love clocks but only if they are silent. A subtle "tick tock" is fine. But my mother has a monstrous grandfather clock that bongs every 15 mins and wears on my last nerve. I will flip the lever that silences its bonging before bedtime. The cuckoo clock stopped working, mercifully, a few years ago.

I love clocks. I'd like to have one of those musical rhythm clocks, but I'm too cheap to buy one ~ LOL.

You get accustommed to the noise from clocks and it doesn't bother you anymore. Where we camp in Pa, there is a tiny little town just over a creek from our camper. Just up the hill from camp there is a church that rings out the hour , on the hour, every hour, all night. It is very loud! And, of course once it gets to the higher numbers , it rings a long time. After 7 years, though, I don't even hear the bongs anymore. When I do notice them - it just feels like a sound that goes with being home. Sometimes if weather conditions are just right - it will echo because the town sits in a little dell amid the mountains.
