Strange laundry experience

Yesterday I was wearing a cotton t shirt that is a few years old and has been washed without difficulty many times. We went out to lunch and I got a veggie wrap that was not wrapped correctly and when I took a bite the bottom squirted out mayo and other juices all down the front of my shirt. When we got home I took off the shirt and sprayed Shout stain remover on it , intending to put it in the washer. My DH said he too had 2 shirts that needed shout and would I was them as well. Shouted all 3 shirts, placed them in warm water with a Tide pod and a scoop of oxiwash. When I got them out of the washer - on the back neck of my shirt , the front bottom of one of DH's shirts and the whole front of his other shirt they were white - looked like they had been bleached. My washer is a bleach virgin - I've never used bleach in this washing machine, so there could not have been any residual bleach in there. I thought the shirts were ruined and I was blaming the Shout. Well, that wasn't bizarre enough -- I put all 3 shirts in the dryer and, lo & behold, when I took them out of the dryer - the areas were gone. GONE. DH & I stood there looking at them with our mouths open in amazement. Delighted, but amazed.

I use Tide & oxiwash with almost every load I wash so it had to be the shout.

BTW - all the stains did come out of all 3 shirts too.

Love that stuff. What may have happened, when you put the oxiclean on bottom of washing tub (top loader) sometimes the oxiclean will disolve when filling the machine and the clothes sitting directly on the oxiclean will pick up whiter spots.

this is just my personal thought.

do you have an he top loader with no agitator. i had one and a small load with a pod was to much detergent would make clothes come out with all white on them so i would have liquid detergent on hand to use with small loads. if you have an agitator washer that uses alot of water then i cant imagin what caused it. thats my thought and good luck.
