Painted Kitchen Wall

I love blue also and the room that was posted by Lola Kimono is beautiful and soothing.

I bought Valspar Reserve paint in Ice Sculpture at Lowe's and did the wall in between my sink and kitchen cupboards this morning. What do you think? The rest of the kitchen is knotty pine. I painted over wallpaper and it looked great with just one coat. I did a satin finish. We painted the outlets to match. That is my Breville Smart Oven Pro on the left.

That color blue is beautiful. I love it. I have everything in my kitchen white and red (not very imaginative, but I like it) with apples and wicker basket designed wallpaper.

It is so soothing looking at your walls! I can't stop looking at it, it's so pretty. You have wonderful taste. Thanks for posting. I can't figure out how to post pictures.

Thanks @Annabellethecat66. I bought a sample first and then tried it on about a foot of the wallpaper first. Then I went back and bought a quart to do it. It only took a small amount due to the quality of the Valspar paint. If you need to scrub the wall more than I need the semi-gloss would work also.

Your kitchen sounds lovely. I love red with white. It was my Mom's favorite color. Red and white are happy colors and the apples and wicker basket sounds adorable.

To post a photo just start a new message and click on the 2nd box to the right of the smiley face. Choose from what comes up and click on the photo you want. I choose the Full Size and then hit post. Add the rest of your message or before you do the photo and hit Post. Pretty easy now to do so.

I just read you are having double knee surgery soon. I will send lots of prayers and fast healing for you. Take care

@MKR14 I love it. I almost fell off my chair, because it resembles my kitchen. I have similar cabinets and also have blue, but I love your color blue much better than mine. Mine's a bit too pale. Good job, IMO.

Looks lovely! Satin paint is the best. I did my whole house in satin paint. I dislike flat paint immensely, and the glossy one (forgot the name. d'oh!) is too shiny for me.

Be sure to scrutinize it again after its been dry for a while to make sure you don't need another coat. Sometimes, later on, what's underneath can bleed through just enough to know you want to hit it again.

Thanks Chickenbutt. I have checked three times and it looks good so far. The wallpaper was white with teeny tulips in it. It always reminds me of my Mom. She loved tulips. The lady that did the paint at Lowe's for me said she also did it over wallpaper and it worked great. Just be sure wallpaper is nice and clean of any dirt first. I just need a refresh of color in my kitchen after 21 years. These are the original cabinets we installed then also. I bought the white bench from QVC that can make into a table and it looks great. I bought

the navy blue bench cushion form the company that makes the bench and it was made very nice. I found a couple of rectangle smallcushion at Ollie's and it looks cute. I have a white steel door that goes from the kitchen to the garage I am going to paint the Valspar Reserve Gloss Ice Blue paint on when the weather gets a little warmer. The bench, cushion, pillows and all the paint and supplies cost less than $350.00. My little do it yourself project

Noticed your Breville Oven in the pic.... I love my Breville Oven. It is so accurate, preheats and cooks quickly, and easy clean up. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine. My friend also loves hers.

@DREAMON I do love my Breville. I use it so much more than I would have my oven. I would go to make something before I bought it and then decide I didn't want to wait for the big oven to heat up. The Breville is the Smart Oven with the light and it heats up and cooks my food before the large oven would be preheated. That is a big plus. Doesn't take up much space and fits a 9"x13" pan.

I am in the process of making my mind up what color to paint my bathroom now. I got a couple samples but they look so much different than the paper strips look. The color is a minty green but I would go one shade lighter than the photo. I have a white washer and dryer plus a white tub with surrounding color from Bathfitters. The cabinets are oak like my kitchen.

This is from a piece of a plastic pad I had in the house. I will bring with me to match this in just a lighter shade. Hope I can match it otherwise I will paint the bathroom white and do the accents in colors. I give up.

I have that color in pillows, bath rugs, towels, and several other accented places in my home. I call it my mermaid color. I love it. We live on the water so it is the perfect color here. Aquamarine is soothing and relaxing IMO.

@ChiliPepper @DREAMON and froggy thanks. I decided to paint the bathroom a nice bright white with the aquamarine accessories. Then I can SEE what I buy and know they will be the color I want. I always can count of my forum friends to give me comments and good honest advice. Now I can go on a hunt for my aquamarine accessories and keep me busy.

My walls are white also with peachy pink & aqua/light teal accents. Sadly, my fixtures are that same peachy/pink that was popular for a short time in the 80's or 90's (curse the previous owner LOL!!!) but I have to live with that for now.

I know Marshall's has some really pretty aqua/teal accessories right now, I just saw them yesterday.

I also got some nice hand towels at WM yesterday. Really pretty aqua color, nice quality & on clearance to boot!

@chickenbutt I repainted my entire area today in my kitchen today as I kept checking for any flaws. Now the Ice Sculpture blue looks twice as nice then it before. We painted a small corner molding and put a few pieces up to finish it off tonight. My husband got our bathroom ceiling painted white and we tried the aqua and another blue paint on the wall. I decided to do a bathroom with three walls in white and do a accent wall behind the bathroom sink and medicine cabinet. I will have to post a photo when the bathroom is done. We are still deciding which color. Now we have to decide a new carpet color for in there. Maybe a grey for something different. It is a small bathroom so I am trying to keep it bright and cheery. My husband hates change and wanted to know after 20 years why I wanted to change anything? Men just don't understand we need to change things up. He's lucky I haven't changed him after 51 years!!

Hi @MKR14 I love that blue in your kitchen. The hardware on the cabinets look as if they are also blue. I would never have thought of using blue as a decorating color for some reason, but it is really lovely.
