After your surgery did you get the lens so you can see far, near and arms length? If you did, how to you like them? I think I have settled on these but would like to hear from more people and their experience. thanks

They didn't have that option when I had my surgery. I had the choice of one eye distance and one eye for reading. I thought both would be distance but the doctor for second surgery didn't ask me and made on close. Ended up good. I'd like to see a pic of the triple strength if you have one.

I don't remember my choices; however, I developed scar tissue after my first cataract surgery.... so you might want to ask your dr. about this. I had to have laser surgery to remove the scar tissue 6 mo. after I had the first surgery.

I had cataracts removed in both eyes last May. I chose to have the implant lens so I could see close. I was sick and tired of always wearing cheaters for everything I had to do so I chose "close". I love the fact I don't have to depend on glasses when I am on the computer. However, I did get glasses for driving (to see distance). I also wear them when I am watching TV. I don't have to but they make the picture exceptionally clear.

I had cataract surgery about 10 years ago when I has 61. If I remember correctly, I had a choice of whether I wanted lenses to see distance or close. I chose distance and it was the best thing I ever did. I don't need glasses for everyday and when I read I use cheap magnifiers. Also, I don't need prescription sunglasses, which is really nice.

Good luck, I'm sure you will be happy with your decision.

Are you talking about the lens implant? If you are some insurances only pay for the distance implant lens. You have to pay extra for monocular etc. If you are talking about lenses for your glasses after surgery. You most likely will have a distance Rx and a near Rx also.

I had cataract surgery 3 years ago and chose to have tri-focal implants put in afterward. I don't need eyeglasses for anything and, although the implants were not covered by my insurance it was the best financial investment I ever made in myself!!

Thanks everyone. Pdlinda thank you for your reply this is exactly what I am trying to find out about. I am willing to pay extra if they work. The doctor said some people have a problem with a halo to lights. I am trying to find out from people using this type of lens if they experience a big problem with them. Right now I have progressive glasses so I need help seeing everything. I am excited about not having to wear glasses for anything if the lens don't create other problems.

Sure...happy to give you benefit of my experience.

To be clear, if I drive at night, there is a halo effect; however, it's not so severe that it is unsafe!!

I had an excellent surgeon here in Phoenix who performed thousands and thousands of these procedures. Each eye took 7 mins to complete. I go back every year for an examination and strictly followed the post-op instructions.

I also use dry eye drops at my doctor's advice to keep my eyes healthy and also use anti-bacterial wipes for my eyelids each day to avoid any infections. Really...I am extremely happy with this surgery. Good Luck!!

This has to be one of the benefits of getting older. I have been wearing glasses for distance since the 2nd grade. I moved to contacts in High School. I have an extremely strong prescription. Now, of course, I use reading glasses over my contacts. I do have the beginnings of cataracts. I am looking forward to some day being able to see clearly with no glasses at all.
