A 4 qt is pretty small let alone a 2 qt. That size would be ok for dips but not much else. I have two 4 qts and a 6qt that I use all the time. The 4qts I use for smaller meals.

I have a 5 qt. and a newer 2 qt. I rarely use the 2 qt; it's just too small. If I were to buy again I would get a 4 qt.

You can always put less in a larger slow cooker, but not more in a small slow cooker.......I live alone and have a larger slow cooker....6 QTS...I would use a small one for dips, and such....BUT not to cook a slow cooker meal.......I love my Wolfgang Versa Cooker, to the point, that I now own 2, and they do get the use out of the price...... It can be used as a slow cooker, baker, and warmer, as well as regular cooker......

I have the Hamilton Beach 3 in 1 also and almost always use the 4 qt but have used the 2 qt once in awhile and the 6 quart for chili and other soups. I love the 3 in 1 for a space saver that lets me have those 3 sizes. We will replace it if it ever dies.

We also have the 6 qt Ninja 4 in 1 and like it too although I see some are against the material in the finish.

I really only use it for keeping side dishes warm for the holidays. I've never cooked with it. It worked fine for my needs and I don't think it ran hot. I've been considering expanding my set because I really like the way they all hook into each other and make a great buffet line.

I have 3 other slow cookers too including the Hamilton Beach 3 in 1 mentioned up thread, it works great but you can only use one crock at a time. I do cook in these slow cookers but rarely dishes that need 2 quarts or less.

Thank you for the great feedback! I will check out the HB. I have a 6 quart. Maybe 4qt is what I should be looking for.

I read elsewhere on here how to use a large crockpot as a smaller one by using a Pyrex dish placed in a water bath in the larger crockpot. Do many good ideas! LM
