Sorry, not a home recipe, but a story of our Greek dressing

I like various dressings but my family zeros in on Ranch dressing all of the time...and not just for salads but sometimes as a dip for chicken or pizza (thanks school cafeteria).

In an effort to curb the fat intake of regular Litehouse Ranch which is good but higher fat than we need, I switched them to OPA Greek style Yogurt Ranch, also made by Litehouse and its really good. It is made with Greek yogurt and has only 60 calories, no MSG, gluten free, no preservatives, no high fructose corn syrup, only 5 fat grams, 2g carbs, no sugar. In the grocery stores, I see OPA has several other Greek yogurt flavors as well. This is creamy, white and has visible pieces of chives. The whole family has enjoyed this. So, while you look for your recipe, perhaps one of the OPA dressings will do in the meantime.

What Google do you use? LOL I just went there and up pops a full screen of Greek recipes (they say: 5,240,000 - as in five million). I have no clue about the dressing you're looking for; but going through those on Google should keep you busy.

Good Luck

Addicted2q, I was able to find your Newk's Greek dressing recipe on Allrecipe's website. It is in a larger quantity, but the person that made the recipe, indicates that you can scale it down to a lesser quantity, if you want or need to do that.

Here is a link to the allrecipes.com website, with the dressing recipe:

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Absolutely-Fabulous-GreekHouse-Dressing/

Here is a good and easy dressing that we like in my family:

1/2 cup good olive oil

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

1/2 teaspoon Grey Poupon mustard

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 cloves minced fresh garlic

1 heaping Tablespoon Cavender's Greek seasoning

Mix all together and store in refrigerator...will keep a long time.

The above is the original recipe. I typically make a double batch and keep on hand in the fridge. I usually add a drop or two of Tabasco sauce, and sometimes a little garlic salt. You can use any kind of Dijon mustard you have on hand. I've even used spicy brown mustard. You can also be a little more generous with the Italian seasoning, mustard, and garlic if you like...and the garlic must be fresh cloves, NOT out of a jar. I always use extra virgin olive oil. This dressing is pretty potent so a little goes a long way. Please dress your salad sparingly at first, let it sit for a few minutes to wilt the lettuce just a bit, and then you can add more dressing if you need it. The key is the Cavender's seasoning. For those who aren't familiar, this is it and can be found everywhere:
