Why do they keep using the same host ( Sharon and Dan ) on the food shows ?

Anyone notice that Qvc keeps using the same hosts over and over, ( Sharon and Dan ) on the food shows? Once in awhile it might be a different host, but rarely. It really gets mundane after awhile. I know they use Sharon alot, and she is so annoying, acting like she's a food critic, and Dan is always eating and can hardly talk about the product because his mouth is full. I say come on Qvc , its time for the other hosts and their opinions for once. I love the food shows, but if Sharon or Dan are hosting, I turn it off.

I totally agree with you. I turn it off too. Don't like Dan W. on the Vitamix or any other cooking shows either.

I don't enjoy either Dan or Sharon & those food shows are terrible. They are so phony as what are they supposed to do taste the food & say it's horrible? Plus, they go over the top with the faces, Sharon being the worst. Dan just keeps shoving food in his face.

In general, hosts have niches .... David cooking, Jill decor, Jane shoes, etc. Sharon and Dan food.

It could in part be because they volunteer to do them and other hosts would rather not do them. If they insisted a host do a show (for anything) that they strongly preferred not to, they know the sales for that show would most likely not be up to expectations. Yes, QVC can make any host do any show, and yes any host should be able to sell any product, but I'm sure all have their preferences.

That seems to have been an unnecessary and personal comment (as well as simply your opinion). He's well-groomed at all times. What more do you expect?

It would be nice if posters could leave out the hurtful, unhelpful, personal attacks. The hosts are human beings, after all. (Do you get judged in whatever work you do for being "not even attractive"?)

I completely agree with the OP!!! I used to look forward to watching the ""Gourmet Holiday"" shows until they started using these two as hosts for EVERY food show. Can tolerate Dan but can't watch Sharon.

I don't know why either, as there are so many complaints on these boards about them, over and over again. I'd think they might want to rethink the idea.

I think they have done it much like they have 'niched' other hosts (like David V), hoping they would get a cult following (like Jill and her YHJ shows) and that would increase the sales. I'm not sure that has worked, though.

I find the rolling of the eyes and ecstatic looks, over everything they put in their mouths, condensending and maybe a little offensive. Most people realize that the hosts are not going to spit the food out and proclaim it to be the worst thing they have ever tasted. I'm not sure why sampling something that has been cooked in a particular pan, and pretending to swoon, would influence me in purchasing a pan. Just sayin'.....they do act silly!

I understand your point, but exactly how would you have them present food items if you were the producer? They're pretty much doing the same thing as hosts do when they present any item; right? Gushing over a basic tee is no different than displaying such pleasure over a food item.

They both go overboard reacting to tasting food. Who does that in real life? Dan seems like he is starving when he presents food. Talking with their mouths full is a turn off. I think different hosts on the food segments would be welcome.
