Has anyone ever used them? I never heard of them util today. Apparently they can be used in the oven or on the grill. My grandson wants pulled pork sandwiches for his birthday dinner. I don't have a grill or a smoker. I've made them in the crockpot before, but thought I might give these a try.

I don't know if this is the same thing but I got some a few years ago. They were by Emeril Lagasse. Kind of a double layer foil bag that had wood chips imbedded in the layers. Hickory, or Alder wood. They were very fragrant. I liked them, but I never see them for sale anymore. Where did you find them?

Ok, in my opinion they seem kind of small. It would be simple to make an oven smoker if you have an old kettle/pot that you can put in the oven.

I watched a video and some guy said his smoked up the house, but I'm sure he didn't fold it over enough.

They're not as expensive as I would have thought tho. If you do a small one, it probably would be fine.

When I used mine, (Emeril bags) they did smoke up the kitchen. It was a lovely aroma, but there was a noticeable smell. Not smokey that you couldn't see but you could smell it. I used the oven fan and cracked a window, as soon as I noticed the smokey aroma-so the smoke alarm didn't go off. I did have the foil very tightly closed, but it still escaped.

You're right, the bags look huge but you can't put more than 3 lbs in one. I thought the bags were a fun novelty. I think they would best be suited for fish-something that doesn't take very long to cook.

It's been years since I had purchased them, forget the brand, but think I purchased them from the supermarket. They were a double layered foil bag where you would put your meat/fish in to cook and there were different varieties. Bought one of each, used them and didn't buy again, nothing great about them. They reminded my of the grill bags Reynold used to sell, which they discontinued.
