I'm surprised they'd allow that. At any rate, the advantage of auto-delivery is that the price locks in, correct? I'd dig into this one more.

I could be wrong, because it's been a while, but I believe that the AD for this particular product was a two-year thing.
Price Honeybell Auto Delivery

Hi All,

I ordered (3) 12 lb. boxes of Honeybells at the end of December 2013 (received 2014) on auto delivery for this year (2015). Price was $32.00 a box. This year I was charged $45.00 for the auto delivery. Called Customer Service a week ago and they said to call when I received my orders and they would credit $13 times 3 orders. Received my orders today and called CS and they said corporate said NO adjustment.

I would have cancelled my auto delivery if I had known of the price change. Obviously I am done buying Honeybells.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Mocha

Yeah, definitely try again. That's really weird because part of the point they make about auto-deliveries is that you lock in the price of when you started.

In my experience over the years with QVC, they have always been very good with back-end customer service so I would be shocked if they didn't help. My rule of thumb is to always be nice and not rude and accusatory. After all, it's not that person on the phone who generated the error and however it came about, it was probably just a technical error and not a malicious intent error. Of course, not saying that you reacted any differently, but it's always worth mentioning.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for your replies. I just sent an email to the Q and I will let you know the outcome. A difference of $39.00 is enough to irritate me. HA! HA!

Ncascade, Yes, some of the Honeybells have seeds and they definitely don't look like what you see on the Q presentation.

Mocha

My understanding is the same as Chicken's. And it's what they say if you do AD this year for next year.

I would call again and try to explain it to someone else. I think the person you spoke to didn't understand what you were saying. I think they thought that you wanted last year's price for this year and didn't understand that you had already locked in the rate.

The end result is QVC can change the amount charged for your auto delivery with NO notification to the customer. I emailed this was a poor business practice and to forward my emails to the president of QVC.

I have now cancelled most of my auto delivery orders.

It is always a welcome surprise to thaw out the juice in the middle of the summer, and enjoy the taste of a honey bell!

Okay thanks. I live on the West Coast and have seen something similar - I think they are called Cuties but didn't think they were the same thing. I just wish I could buy a few at the local grocery store.

Here in Florida, Cuties are brand name for a Clementine or mandarin orange. The honey bell is much different. The honey bells tend to be larger in size, and are very juicy! I suggest that when you have the opportunity, you should try the Honey bell! : )

I just googled HoneyBell oranges and notice Harry and David carries them. I have a Harry and David store nearby. I'm going to call them tomorrow to see if they have them. I was able to buy pears from them a few months ago, so maybe I'll be in luck! For some reason I just don't want to order online.

I have always been a something is right or something is wrong kind of person and this issue in the beginning was just handled wrong.

Happy it is resolved and it was fun meeting all of you.

That's good news, thank you for the update. So I guess the original information from CS - that Corporate wouldn't credit your account - was just a misunderstanding?

Hi ValuSkr,

No, original info from CS was not a misunderstanding, many excuses why the $39 difference but not a misunderstanding.

It took 3 phone calls over the last week to CS including one with a supervisor and 8 or 9 emails today. My last email said to send all of the emails to the President of QVC.

Shoppers at QVC know what auto delivery means and for QVC to charge a different amount for an auto delivery item without notification was a very bad business decision. I sure hope they have changed their policy.

You must be a West Coast lady as you are up late like me.

Take care,

Mocha
