Hi Lacey,

Will be brief here. I must injest B12 and Folate each day, as I am prone to anemia. I had a very pronounced issue with maintaining decent levels until I went to a Naturopath. She has me taking a capsule twice daily, which I purchase from Amazon:

Source: Amazon

Brand: Pure Encapsulations

What it is: B12 Folate, with Metafolin L-50MTHF (this last increased absorption)

Ingredients: Folate 800mcg, Vitamin B12 800mcg, ascorbyl palitate (fat soluble vitamin C) 2 mg

Other ingredients: hypo-allergenic plant fiber (cellulose), vegetarian capsule (cellulose, water)

I realize this is not what you asked for, but thought I'd provide it, as my labs are coming back all within normal range since I started taking this capsule twice daily.

Just a thought.

FYI: Vegemite and Marmite are two products that can supply B vitamins and Folate for vegans. They are products derived from the beer brewing process. Essentially a yeast extract. They are an ACQUIRED taste. It comes as a thick, dark paste, in a tube or small jar. In it's native land of Australia, people spread it on toast.

I find it to be too salty and sharp for my tastes, so I 'hide' it in my smoothies. It makes me feel as good as sub lingual B supplements. Available in health food stores.

Why not get your b vitamins /folate using veggies in your smoothies instead of a sodium laden, nasty stuff like vegemite? 1 tsp of it, is 10% of your total daily amount of sodium for one day! Adding the green leafy things are so much better for you and you can't taste them at all. You need to do some research about this.

I have a friend in Australia who is always sending me gifts and packages. He told me that I just had to try Vegemite because it was so delicious and he went on and on how he eats So came the Vegemite and when I tried it, well let's say I couldn't even swallow it, it was so horrible. In Australia it is something that they have been brought up eating so they love it. But I will say they do have the best chocolates! .

Marmite is one of my most favourite things in the world, lol! But the reason I think people here hate it is because they slather it on like peanut butter. You just need a barely there scraping on fresh bread and butter or hot buttered toast. It is very savory and strong. It tastes a lot better than Vegemite though, I have to say
