I bought my husband the white coated beater for his KitchenAid for Christmas. He just went to use it and it's so big it hits the bowl before it goes in, it's unusable. Do these beaters come in different sizes? He has a 5qt. 325 watt with a glass bowl, Deluxe Edition. Thanks.

Yes, there are different sizes so that it comes to the edge of the bowl. If you buy one that's too big it will hit and if you buy one that's too small it won't mix.

Thanks, I looked at the box and it is only for certain models. I thought they were all pretty much the same except maybe an industrial restaurant one. Live and learn! Happy New Year to you and everybody!

Happy New Year!

The attachments like the meat grinder and things that attach to the front of the machine are universal, from the first model ever made to today.

The beaters, dough hook and whisk are size specific.

Philogirl, I hope someone can help you. My husband had to use the rubber edged beater today since the coated one didn't work and there was no problem, but obviously what do I know, ha, ha, I'm KitchenAid ignorant.

I stopped using it for awhile but I will try again. Since the attachments are interchangeable, I can see picking up the wrong beater size, too.

That is the only thing that makes sense even though it seemed to fit well and is the KA brand. I will give it a try. The other difference is that the KA lady on the Q uses the glasss bowl.

I bought one recently at Bed B&B, and on the package it noted that one style was for the tilt head version and one was for the raise/lower the bowl version.

I have/bought the tilt head one and don't have any issues.

Read the instruction manual. There is a screw that you can turn to raise the head up a little so the beater attachment does not scrape the bottom of the bowl. I had the same issue but quickly fixed the problem and all is fine.
