Anyone ever use these teas? I was at the mall today and stopped in their store. Wonderful exotic teas but super expensive. All loose teas and sold by the ounce.

Teavana teas are wonderful! Many of them can be steeped more than once. I got an email this morning that they are having a big sale now, with 75 percent off some teas. They usually wait until after Christmas to do this, but it's a yearly thing. You might want to check it out online.

Ah! Tevana! In an effort to better my health, I exchanged coffee to tea. Everyone has read how teas are loaded with antioxidants, so more the better, right? I treated myself to 2 batches...so good! But was sooooo disappointed when I discovered how dirty tea can be.

Unless it's specified 'Organic', tea is one of the most heavily pesticided foods out there. AND manufacturers add natural & artifical flavorings and undescribed 'spices'...much like MSG, these flavorings trick the tastebuds. Deceiving since tea is marketed as 'healthy'.

There ARE good teas out there...just have to look. Look for Organic & no flavorings, no artificial anything and no spices. To my knowledge, Tevana is not Organic...and that's enough for me to not further pursue. Also, if someone is making a corp stand by leaving Starbucks....they also own Tevana.

I'm beginning to drink Hibisicus tea. Just go to the Mexican section of your grocery & look for dried hibiscus flowers. Throw several flowers in a glass of water...makes a beautifully ruby colored drink w/ a hint of flavor....and LOADED with antioxidants. A $1 bag will last several weeks. Just sharing ideas...

Hi Ladies--I've tried and liked a few Teavana teas, but some are oddly sweetened, it seems?? I do like the "Oprah Chai" & Youthberry. Someone here on the boards recommended Upton teas a while back. Really nice prices and all loose-leaf that you can buy in small quantities, if you want to try first.

Yes, they are good. However, if this is something that concerns you... they do use some artificial flavors, and some are concerned by the fact that their teas are not organic.

I have a few of their teas. One of the biggest complaints I hear about Teavana is that they will oversell you on product every time they get a chance. By either selling you something you do not need, or "topping off" your tea quantity to add bigger numbers to their sell (and these are just complaints made by ex staff). Apparently the corp. brainwashes the employees. If you want to know more on that, just Google it.

Adding that, when I do buy from them, I purchase online... so I can use promo codes and so no one can cheat me out of my monies.

My favorite tea companies are Verdant teas and Whispering Pine Tea company. Both have online stores, and both are going to be a little more expensive as they are pure teas (no weird artificial flavors). Definately worth the money for these two companies. You can steep them more than once.

To find out ratings and tasting notes on teas go to www.steepster.com.

I bought myself the Breville Perfect Tea Maker, gets it right every time, and is always waiting for me when I am ready to enjoy it.

Some have called me a beverage snob.

It is a small shop, and the people there really care about what they sell!

They have great tea, but it's way too expensive. Some good brands are Republic of Tea and Rishi. Our local tea store carries bins of specialty teas, but they are Rishi brand, I found out. A lot less expensive than Teavana.

Figure out which tea you like and see if you can get a "clone" of it by looking around.

My neighbor's son used to work at Teavana, so I've enjoyed many of their teas, both samples in the store, and with my neighbor at her house. She usually made iced tea--I don't recall any of the flavors specifically, but they were delicious.

I have never actually purchased one thing in the store because of the prices.

There is another tea store, Adagio, that we do not have in our local mall but that I have been to at a mall in Chicago. They were more reasonably priced, and we loved their teas! I did make a purchase there--I don't do loose tea, so I was delighted that they sell some teas in bags. They also sell on line if you don't have a store near you.
