On Trisha Yearwood's cooking show Saturday, she made some chocolate Crock Pot Candy. It looked easy and yummy. Wondering if any of you have made it and how you liked it. I saw another recipe on another site that used peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. She just used choc. chips, if I remember correctly.

She also used broken up chocolate pieces didn't she and almond bark? It looked really good but I haven't tried it since I don't care for sweets. I've never tried crock pot candy, but I'll bet there are lots of variations out there.

I found the recipe for Trisha's crock pot candy she had on her show last week. I was curious when I saw her make it about the peanuts on the bottom. I am not all of that fond of peanuts so was thinking pecans would be good instead.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/trisha-yearwood/slow-cooker-chocolate-candy-recipe.html

I made the following posted on a thread here titled 'Tis the season..for candy recipes':

On 10/26/2014 chips said:

I have not made saltine toffee for many years. You have motivated me. Thank you.

This recipe was shared on this bulletin but I did not include the author. This is very good.

Easy recipe....crockpot on low...
2lbs lightly salted dry roasted peanuts....
16 oz bag of Milk Chocolate morsels;
1 block of Bakers German Sweet Chocolate;
and 1 block of Almond bark.
Place all together in the crock pot than go about your business for approximately 3 hrs.
Turn crock pot on low.
I than spoon out on wax paper and let cool.
I have also seen people place them in the mini cupcake liners.
These are better than chocolate covered peanuts you get in the store.

It is very good and very easy, and makes a lot, I used the mini muffin papers and had 100 when done.

Thanks ladies....and snickster for posting. I think I will use the mini muffin papers, that way you can make more, and just get a little taste. I also think I'll use the peanut butter chips. Will let you know how it turns out.

Just an FYI! Read some of the comments regarding Trisha's recipe as far as using ""Warm"" or ""Low"" setting on the crock pot. Wouldnt want to waste any ingredients.

The candy tastes a bit more 'gourmet' when I use their chips. Also, I always use Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate as I rarely have milk chocolate chips on hand. It's the type of recipe that you'll like regardless of whatever brand chocolate you decide to use, IMO.
