I just received my Nutribullet and made one fruit veggie concoction. I really liked the first veggie/berry run that I made and the veggies & berries were frozen however. I did more reading and realized that ice was not mentioned at all. That seemed strange and I started to doubt that this was what I expected. My first thing. Was basically frozen fruit and veggies and that seemed to work wee. As I read and realized they did not mention ice or really even frozen fruit or veggies I decided to call Nutribullet and check it out with them. They said that really you should not use regular ice cubes but maybe crushed. Of course I am not going out to get crushed ice. Now I am concerned as to whether it will be practical for a lot of what I will want to do. Does anyone have comments about your concept of this product if you have it? Thanks for any comments.

My boyfriend sometimes uses the frozen fruit and has no problems. If you're concerned, you can let them sit out and defrost a bit. The problem arises when people treat it like a blender and that's what causes them to break. Never use ice.

If you watched any of the presentations, the demo guy mainly used fresh fruit and veggies and lots of liquid. I think Nutribullet makes a higher power (pro?) version that does okay with ice and frozen things. Which version did you get?

I have a 600 watt NutriBullet and only use ice from the ice machine at work with it because I guess you would call it ""softer"" ice than the cubes at home. I just leave it at work now rather than take it home every night. There have been no problems with it. The only frozen fruits that don't seem to blend well for me are raspberries and blackberries. Most of the time I try to use fresh fruits and vegetables and it works fine. Frozen black cherries are my favorite of the frozen variety as they seem to have more flavor.

Santorini, mine is the 900 that they sold recently. Came to me yesterday. I guess that I will keep it but it just did not occur to me that it wasn't supposed to use ice cubes with 900 watts. I pictured it making ice cream etc like all the others of that wattage will do.

Just to be clear, you're not talking about the Nutri-Ninja that was recently on Q are you? I have the Vitamix and the Nutribullet, and also had a Ninja. The only 2 I would make the frozen "ice cream" in are the Vitamix and Ninja. I use the Nutribullet mostly for mixing protein powder drinks.

I have a Nutribullet and have been using it a lot.

I love it. I gave away my old Magic Bullet because this replaced it so well.

Good points: it does a lot more than make smoothies. I use it for small amounts of sauces, making bread crumbs, and I use it regularly for grinding my coffee. They now give you two extractor blades, so you can change off.

Bad points: no longer comes with a milling blade. I bought one, because that is what I use for crumbs and coffee.

The replacement blades and a single blade (for chopping) are not expensive. You can get more mugs, too.

I use mine every day and I like it a lot.

My friend travels a lot and he uses it basically for fresh veggie drinks. He tries to get his leafy greens into his diet this way when he's gone. He gave up putting fruit and ice in it since it didn't work well for that. For a fruit smoothie, its better to use a Vitamix as it is capable of taking whole ice.

I used mine for the first time yesterday. Just soaked frozen strawberries in warm water for about a minute. Guess I don't have to do that. I did use ice and it didn't crush all of it. I thought when they were selling it, he added ice as the last ingredient. The smoothie was good. I used coconut water and a packet of stevia as well as kale and spinach. Who would of thought that would taste good.

Nutribullet 900 demo on Sunday 3/1/2015 (HSN), they used semi-frozen fruit and made "sorbets". It seemed to have a nice consistency. They used frozen pineapple and mango and definitely stated that it was partially thawed, not just out of the freezer.

Looking forward to using it. It had 2,221 reviews and 1,570 were 5 stars.

I also read about the gasket, so hope mine won't be one of those! LOL

Great for home and work.

I originally purchased my Breville for juicing but, I found that this little guy actually gave me better results and a lot less waste. As other users have stated frozen fruit works perfectly, I have found that when using frozen items I did not need to use ice.
